Yes and no, if you have sufficent mass to move his body, IE you’re a teenager and he is an adult. There are limits to the effect if you can’t bring much mass or force. So if you are say, 8 years old or a very small person you will have a very hard time moving them, if you could at all.
Pulling “downward” on the attacker’s arm upsets his balance and changes the symmetry of his position, causing his mass to shift to one side. Simultaneously thrusting “upward” with the opposite hip causes the attacker’s balance to shift even further, allowing gravity to complete the process.
The technique works on the principles of physics. It is a known fact that “energy” is required to move an object. Depending upon the mass (weight and size) of the object, a specific amount of energy is required to move it. By upsetting the balance of the object and enlisting the aid of “gravity”, less energy will be required.
Thank you for asking. Yes… if the technique is performed correctly you should be able to push the attacker over, provided you have sufficient strength in your lower body. That is why it is important to exercise and/or train with an instructor… to build strength and coordination.
That’s true. If the victim can reach the eyes or the throat (soft targets) this will work. Pulling downward on the attacker’s arm loosens the pressure on the throat as well.
Above was for a standing choke. Lying down you need to get your windpipe to the side away from his thumb pressure that puts one shoulder slightly forward again all fingers to the eyes,you could combine this neat legwork they show here too .Its best to practice with a strong male friend so you know what works fast and easy.
man on a Womans throat? If I was the woman I would put one shoulder forward and push both fingers into his eyes then toe to nuts and run.
Try it: even if you just place a finger in the guys throat and push gently; and he will let go,as you are turning to put your shoulder forward slightly, your stomach is more guarded too cause he may put a knee into your center to take your wind away. Fast is the key / out reach them with extended fingers. Eye is best, if he cant see,he cant find you.

The reality is … matching strength against a hulk can be fruitless for someone so petite. That is when biting, clawing out eyes and ripping off ears become more important than technique.
