I've seen a few videos recently where this exact thing happens. Defender chases after the attack who is fleeing. And I've left comments about how that's really a bad idea, based off the learning on this channel.
It doesn't look like the defender was chasing the attacker to me, it seems more likely he was looking for an opportunity to leave and didn't think through looking for other exits.

That door was the bottleneck for sure. The aggressor was just posted and waiting for him to go through it.
