So, as an opening move for self defence, what is wrong with the Krav Maga move of a swift kick in the balls?

Me personally. I would teep as a first strike. It's a bit more aggressive than a 2-handed push and till knock most opponents off balance. Helps create the distance, which buys me time to make my next move.

Also an ok gauge of how much fat vs muscles someone has. Was in a fight once and I shoved the guy twice. Hes larger than me (not obese but not lanky) and taller but I work a labour job and from the looks of it hes probably an office guy. Maybe it was adrenaline but to me it felt like pushing an empty metal drum and all I did was stand in my spot. Dude got launched backwards twice which surprised me a lot to this day. At that point I know this guy aint shit. Fight was over in like half a minute. He cried, we hugged it out (nohomo) and we sat down to listen to his sad life stories. He understood to chill out more. Whenever I saw the dude hes more composed and generally feeling better about life. I moved to a different job after so never gotten to know him better. But last time we chatted he said hes so stressed out at his workplace and plan to quit and try pick up a welding job. I hope it all works out for him.

Id never willingly touch a corporate job unless if I had no other choice. Sounds like a toxic kind of job. Machines are nice. If bad things happen theres nobody else to blame other than the one doing the work. Machines dont lie, they just display reality as it is

I used the two handed push against an aggressive neighbor who obviously had intent to hurt me. He followed me all the way from my back yard to the front of the building and approached me as I was trying to get into my car. The police said me pushing him was justifiable reason to put his gun to my head and scream about how he was going to kill me in front of my children, then he put the gun away and repeatedly punched me in the face until I fought back and got him in a rear naked choke. I was charged with disorderly conduct while defending myself.
