hey man.. you mentioned in your last video that liberty ammunition civil defense was crap? it sparked interest to me and i spoke to a few medical professionals.. one EMT and fireman along with two ER doctors who have gunshot wound experience. the EMT and fireman is also an avid gun owner and enthusiast. They all agreed that the civil defense ammo would be as lethal or more lethal in most situations and overall more lethal than a traditional hallow point. they said that the trauma from the rapid expansion and pressure caused by the bullet fragmenting and bursting outward could kill someone alone. (not sure how that works) they also said that repairing that damage if they survived the shots would be a nightmare and they would much rather have to attempt to repair a knife or gunshot wound than a civil defense gun shot wound. they all agreed that no matter where you hit someone from neck to waist center mass, that since the star burst of damage goes in 4" and bursts out 4", it would be a lethal hit. even just 1 bullet. they did say that the bullet would lose its effectiveness if going through any barriers or if say, in the famous fbi scenario, you hit them from a perpendicular position and it went through their shoulder. (but that it would basically explode their deltoid) overall, they suggested from a personal defense standpoint, which usually places you close and square to the target with no hard obstacles between you, you would increase your chances of stopping them and do more damage with the civil defense. they also noted that ballistics gel is made to mimic muscle and organs generally, not fat. they said if this hit a fatty piece of the body, the damage would be exponentially more devastating due to the consistency of fat not being able to slow the mini explosion down. it was pretty compelling… clearly this is just medical speculation and it was not from their actual experience between a traditional hallow point and a civil defense gun wound, but they all had the same reaction. i showed them the actual bullets and showed them a video of what it does in ballistic gelatin vs a regular hallow point.
