King Roosta says:

I love how twice during the live demos, mike tried to throw a monkey wrench, and Aaron was sooooo ready for it. He reacted immediately both times and showed how to counter the counter. that's how you know what they're doing is real. You don't see other people do demos where the attacker actively tries to throw monkey wrenches into the demo without the instructor knowing about it, and the instructor being able to go with the flow and still win the interaction.

That guys good

pedro reyes says:

@hard2hurt was verbally disarmed by that "you look really good" and it made me smile

Heather Keys says:

Wait, wait, wait. Is Icy Mike wearing camo pants? That’s putting off a strong RBSD vibe, all that’s missing is a T-shirt from a branch of the military you’ve never served in. Plus techniques comprised solely of eye pokes, groin shots, throat shots etc. Lol just kidding, I love the videos, the recent collabs with Aaron have been awesome, camo pants notwithstanding 😉

SkunkWorks says:

cool stuff, try throwing your right arm over the grab but instead of going for a grab break, go straight for the 2 on 1. It moves you off-line and gives you an angled attack to the knife arm.

Darren F says:

Never would have guessed Aaron didnt wrestle in high school or college. He moves like he's been wrestling forever.

Micheal Puckett says:

Looks alot like Aiki. Flowed with energy of attack ect.

Lance Hobbs says:

Havent you ever " trained" aikido??
They do a telegraphed lunge deliberately missing by about a shoulder width off to your left…then FREEZE…. then throw themselves helplessly to the ground

AlwaysTraining says:

Go for the head

Aaron Smith says:

Interesting that a strike was not even on the menu here. Attacker's face/throat/groin/plexus were completely exposed and his hands were tied up. Why not give the attacker some pain and disorientation to deal with? Defender is absolutely going to get cut no matter what. Staying in a defensive mentality seems to be a losing strategy here.

Marcos Álvarez says:

Serious question. When he is coming to the inside for defend the knife head first, why did he put it on your shoulder instead of smashing your face with a headbutt??
YOU were the real threat, not the knife.

yu wmelon says:

The last bit is hilarious. I'm so glad that I stayed till the end!😁

[REDACTED] [CANCELED] [CENSORED] says:

My first thought was to quickly grab the attacker's grabbing arm and push it in his way. But I guess it wouldn't work if the attacker grabs strong enough?

Moderator says:

Essentially there's no specific defense, so just go off and practice it 2800 times and hope that when the time comes you don't end up all stabbed up lol

J P says:

ASP just covered such a scenario, you can see the victim not 'committing' etc….harsh reality and unfortunately they did not make it
