Something about short controlled swings, keeping the weapon chambered, targeting head or joints, never center mass, always opening space to keep them in the strong distance, using the butt-end to help separate and resume striking distance. etc…
I do know what to do when getting attacked by a baseball bat!! I bend over, place my hands neatly behind my back and together and I let'em say "4!!!" and blaoww!!

And those who use bat for self defense. Footwork, move in circle to reload the swing. Never get close to your opponent and never be predictable.
