Developed in 1978 and produced by Llama until 1995, the Pressin was a two-shot derringer made to be disguised as a pair of glasses. It was intended for use by politicians, military officers, and other potential victims of kidnapping by groups like the ETA. It held two rounds of a special 7.65mm E cartridge, which was .32 ACP with a case cut down to 15mm. A total of about 900 were made, most of which were deactivated and sold on the Spanish civilian market after Llama’s bankruptcy.

I knew about those staplers 😁 pretty dope actually! Some US folks are making Smartphones guns those days so between phones and sunglasses it's gonna be "fun" 😁

I love sparkin up a joint and watching this stuff
ᴛʜᴇsᴇ ᴀʀᴇɴ’ᴛ ɢʟᴀssᴇs ᴀᴛ ᴀʟʟ…. ITS A GUN
Well, I'm impressed. I'm both spanish and basque (ETA was/is a basque terrorist group), and I never knew of this thing. At all.
Spain is a very restricted place when it comes down to owning firearms, even more if said firearms are not for hunting nor sporting purposes. It really goes to show up to which point autorities were pressed by the brutal wave of terrorist violence in the late 70s and early 80s if a thing like this was authorized by the government.
As for the kidnappings…let's say ETA was more likely to just walk into the bar you were having a round at with a friend, your son, or a family member, discharge a couple shots in your head without crossing a word, and then just leaving the place, than trying to kidnap you. Or to put a bomb under your car. But I guess for VIPS this thing had an use because there were indeed kidnappings, even while never of really high ranking political or business figures. But the ghost of having something really important and prominent kidnapped was a very real one for a lot of years, something which caused a lot of desperate preventive measures, list of which this pistol I rank into immediately.
I at least can think of a list of people that I'm pretty sure owned one of these even while I never knew that they even existed 20 minutes ago. Funny story about the King presenting one to Ronald Reagan, btw. And yeah, I also somehow doubt the Secret Service would allow the POTUS to carry something like this in his pocket XDDD.
I agree that two shots of underpowered .32-caliber ammo would not help much against a large number of kidnappers or assailants, but could this have been intended as a last ditch suicide option if the victim believed they were going to be tortured to death anyway? Just a thought, though it does seem like a possibility.
I dont think I will ever say I have seen every gun made since I have started watching Ian, just when you think you've seen it all here he comes with another odd ball ….keep surprising us please
Ian THANK YOU! I had read about this in a book many years ago, and knew it existed, but I could not call to mind any details of it other than that it fit in an eyeglass case and looked more-or-less like the disassociated slide of an automatic pistol. I had always wondered if one would cross your path and am pleasantly surprised to find it so.
I think the declararion inside the carrycase is more likely so that police don't accidentally shoot themselves examining this pistol.
My guess is that it wouldn't be much use for mugging or robbery, mostly because it looks nothing like anyone expects a firearm to look like and wouldn't really be that intimidating, even if it really is a deadly weapon.
Nice video, creepy gun.
That's kinda cool and I want one.
Tactical stapler
That’s a nice little piece of junk.
