You aren’t going to get close enough to me. I recently had a thug role up on me like this as I came out of a bank. His hands where inside of his hoodie pockets. I used my left hand to push him away as I took a step backwards and pulled my fire arm. I pointed it at his crotch and told him to show me his hands. He turned and calmly walked away. He made some comments about my dear mama as he did so…
Not the first time something like that has happened to me.
No sane or unarmed person will role up on you like this… “inside your reactionary gap” without already having formulated the intent to injure you.
Don’t be afraid to be impolite or perceived as racist when you react aggressively to someone rolling up on you like this.
If it happens by surprise while you are unarmed… get your hands up right away palms toward your opponent making open handed peaceful gestures as you create distance. Take two steps backwards. If he advances catch him coming in with a good punch to the jaw as you step in to him. Him coming towards you as you advance towards him will double the power of your punch.
I live in El Paso, TX… next door to one of the most violent cities in the world, Juarez, MX. Yet this city is consistently named one of the five safest cities in the US. I’ve had a CC permit since I moved here 25 years ago. We’ve had open carry for a while but I’ve only seen two guys dumb enough to do so since it became legal.
After Vietnam I worked my way through college and then law school as a military contractor. I am a pro 2A liberal democrat.
When you are alert you vision things that can go wrong in any situation. Picture a Soldier. You are fully aware of your surroundings. I'm not saying be scared to walk but be alert if anyone comes for you, like what if's. It can save your life because your senses are fully heightened. What if this dude pulls a knife on me. WHAT IF'S. Learn about it
why this man was ever let out on the streets after 4 counts of assault with a deadly weapon just amazes me. whoever the judge is that sentences these people needs to be held accountable. they were just waiting for him to become a killer.
I did a bit of reading up on the crime of Assault With a Deadly Weapon. In a nutshell, it seems like guns carry the most "deadly" weight, and knives are likely considered less deadly by judges, and thus someone can get a lesser sentence. Seems pretty short sighted to me, as evidenced right here.
Don't go where fellas roam, especially late at night. No good has come or will ever come from being in proximity of them, the further away you stay from them in public places the safer you will be. This is why guns were invented.
Wow…if I lived in a big city not only would I have a fighting pistol with 15 rounds….I would have a snub nose 357 revolver in my jacket pocket so I could shoot right through the jacket if need be… I will mind my buisness and you best gd mind yours
