Actually done: Lock car doors immediately. Pom OC spray on my person.

Mentally prepared: Fully comply or go ape with 5 D’s. Get out of danger zone! Now know one punch TKO and strangle hold are a REAL threat.

Have not done: trained in hands on skills.

In Gratitude I Am says:

John's Rules of Safety:
1. Lock your dang doors (you're in a transitional space);
2. Be aware of your environment;
3. Drop what's in your support hand (assuming it's not your gun);
4. Be the first to get shots in the meaty bits of the bad guy;
5. Keep shooting until the bad guy knows they don't need to be shot anymore;
6. Stop shooting when the bad guy is no longer a threat;
7. Be aware that a former threat can become a threat once again;
8. If number 7 should happen, repeat 4, 5, 6.

Why did she need to have her phone with her while locking the gate? Alternatively, why didn't she have her phone in her pocket when she was in a transitional space? Wisdom comes from experience and experience comes from making mistakes. Thanks, John.

THOTS BE GONE69 says:

Drop the phone!!!

Jonathan J. says:

Assuming he was then running, surprised she was still shooting at him. And she was shooting upwards towards who-knows-where. Amazing that the instinct is to protect the phone, since we cradle it all day. Great she looked around while closing the gate. Scared that S.O.B. off.

Andre #1 Custom Shoes says:

Always shoot to kill. Or else they will comeback to sue you

Terrance Grabowski says:

Glad she’s okay

Kameron Dabney says:

I've been surprised at amount of dog encounters and the number of incidents you've had with dogs John. Secondly, probably the amount of successful defense and counter ambushes by prepared defenders. The other thing is how fast encounters begin and end.

Paul Kimble says:

Boy that is a great question. I think if I have to pick one, the number one thing that I've learned from the years of watching your videos is understand transitional spaces and being alert.

badlolfer says:

Thank goodness the interpreter wasn’t hit .

NightShadeFern says:

Pretty sure she panic squeezed and hit the sidewalk as she was ducking behind the car. Particles are visible for a moment there.

Sean Chung says:

Honestly, your videos have made me happy to live in Canada. We have our own sht, but nothing compares to yall 🙏

Chris Prescott says:

She looked like easy prey but looks can be deceiving.

Vk parables Volark Keo says:

Drop the call, or the call may make to drop.

chai guy says:

1. How often "transitional spaces" are the scenes of gun fights.
2. How often even highly trained people, like police officers, fall back to bad habits like only using one hand on the gun.
3. How often guns malfunction in actual fights.
