Dan Mahoney says:

John, my family was also affected similarly. If only we could help people under stress understand that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Kudos to the off duty.

Kind Heart says:

I would certainly step in to help a person in distress, after I assessed the potentials for harm coming to myself or my loved ones in so doing.

Shel Nunya AT says:

Rite on. Thx for unique breakdown.

Siimon0803 says:

Im not sure if you should help people like that. I mean, its their wish to end their pain, and if they consider something like that i think you should let them do it. Its their life in the end and i think everyone should do with it what they want (If they harm nobody of course). As me stugglung with depression and suicidal thoughts myself, i wouldnt want anyone to stop me because its my choice how i wanna handly things. I dont care if it can be solved other ways. The other ways take long and for me it wouldnt make a differnce if i end it right now, or spend 5 years trying to get okay again. The first option sure is the fastest.
(although i couldnt stand not helping the person when i were at that perticualar place)

Let me know what you think of that, should you let them do what they want or not?

Pw America says:

supposedly we all hate each other

I don’t step Pastor
The Lord has me running!

Sinuous says:

Nice to not see people standing there just videotaping with their phone.

Justin Pineda says:

Job well done. Humanity.

ghost walk says:

Who the hell wears a Covid mask while going to commit suicide?

A S says:

Those ammo prices in that ad, even from LG, are outdated John. Wolf Gold 5.56 1k bulk is about $600 after shipping on their website as I'm writing this.

Penultimate Hortator says:

Thank you for saying that mental illness should be de-stigmatized. I would WANT to help in this situation, but I'm not sure I could necessarily think quickly enough to be of help.

GanjaBear29 says:

I would step in because I feel its the right thing to do but I also feel that suicide is an answer to a means.

Sugar&Spice says:

Cool save. ( side note) Most people experience mild to no symptoms with Corona. Not that big of a risk for average person.

Keinlieb says:

It's actually kinda crazy that the guy trying to commit suicide has a mask on but the 2 that saved him and the cop didn't have masks on. Why wear a mask if you're trying to kill yourself and why are you not wearing masks if you're wanting to be safe?

Rage Fury says:

It's important in these trying times to show perseverance, intelligence, and the compassion to help others who aren't able to overcome the hardships on their own. We can always set a better example for the future, and steer away from the hopelessness that our forebears have wrought upon their offspring, as well as our. Everyone has the right to feel important and wanted in this world, and shame on those who would dismiss that right over their own hubris.

bubbajeph says:

The man is depressed because he lives in a city and state ran by retards.

capgains says:

Other than protecting others feelings, who are we to stop someone’s else’s free will

John P says:

Absolutely going to step in, and definitely willing to go hands on.

Where I live we have laws to protect good samaritans in emergencies. Broken down a bit they state:

"A person is protected from action, If, in respect of a person who is ill, injured or unconscious as the result of an accident or other emergency. A person voluntarily renders emergency first aid assistance and that assistance is rendered at the immediate scene of the accident or emergency, the person is not liable for damages, for injuries, or the death of that person alleged to have been caused by an act or omission on his or her part in rendering the medical services or first aid assistance, unless it can be established that the injuries or death were caused by gross negligence on his or her part."

I think it is fair to say anyone attempting to climb a bridge like that, little alone one with a suicide prevention fence would be in a some type of seriously mental health emergency.

paul yi says:

I just hope that off duty angel cop didn't catch COVID. That's all.

Rain 825 says:

If people make the choice that they do not want to live anymore they should have every right to end their own life!!! THE ONLY reason people prevent suicide is so he can keep funneling tax and Healthcare money into the American government!!!

Mike Baxter says:

I would step in to prevent, to the best of my abilities and at only a resaonable risk to myself, as I am crippled and althought I can walk quickly .. I cannot run for examle.

RIZE 리제 says:

R.I.P Etika 🙁

long-time listener , first-time caller says:

but that on-duty officer looked like he was going to … risk his life by jumping over the rail … and leave his patrol car running while unattended!?! 0.o

Russel Murray says:

Maybe that person needed to leave who are we to decide what is best

darealrobertmcd says:

If I saw that in person I would probably ask him what's he doing and try to talk him out of it. But it's ultimately not my decision if he wants to live or die, that choice is up to each individual person

John says:

Yep I am sure a community resource officer would have got there in time, NOT. Don't defund the police, add more of them!

Tak says:

There is mental illness and there is spiritual illness. There is a hole in man that only Christ Jesus can fill.

LRY Logger says:

98 idiots gave this a "thumbs down" I've never been in that situation, but if I ever am, I hope I can prevent someone from ending their life

Southern Gentleman says:

It’s not over until God says it’s over

Miguel Samayoa says:

Loved the message today .
