Great comparison video. It's surprising how much difference there can be in factory ammo. I always use the super scientific red neck penetration test on old school books!
Watch Tools&Targets channel. He does lots of .22lr testing. The best out there is Federal Punch, but like you said there is an over penetration issue. STAY AWAY from the Winchester red box ammo! He also did a test, and the projectile actually meleted at the end of his barrel causing all kinds of issues. Pure junk!
Along with the first 3 CCI's. The CCI standard velocity and Fedreal 325 bulk box, both work great in all my 22lr's (rifles and handguns). The Aguila, Armscor, & Remington golden bullet usually malfunction in my 22's.

What about Federal new short barrel 22 lr flat nose 29 gr..
Good thing about .22 lr is if it's used inside a closed space it may not be as deafening as a bigger round.

1) be aware that stated velocities are usually from a long gun
2) make sure your gun cycles them reliably

A 22 might not be my first choice. But ask any country boy what they use butchering hogs. 1 shot.

I prefer the. 22 magnum
The only rf I would try would be one of the wmrf thats made for SD.
Because there's a better chance of the prim actually being in the rim.
