I noticed that the judge ordered absolute sobriety and not like I have a problem with that.. but is that standard protocol and is there any indication that the defendant was impaired? Certainly the alleged victims appear to have been impaired
So the alleged first punch is not caught on video? So you're going to take the words of a bunch of drunken disrespectful rowdies group think narrative? A man is presumed innocent until proven guilty… he was looking for a phone he told them so and they also had the opportunity to back the hell off.. alternatively they could have offered some empathy and showed some concern or even assistance in locating the phone? And their failure to do so perhaps raised suspicion in the defendants mind that they found the phone already? And didn't want to acknowledge it?. if they outnumbered him, menacing in a public place, and were pushing him? he was defending himself.. this is Jose Alba without a bodega? With Backwoods law enforcement and media.. black and white presentation.. let's slow down and proceed cautiously and accordingly.. and try to show some respect… this otherwise good, smart hardworking and loving person is going to have his life ruined because of fully preventable narcissistic triangulation and arrested development, Behavior of others.?. and I see little indication of anybody willing to take responsibility for that.. the hospital bed interview of the young lady concedes that she was drunk.. and has poor recollection.. sounds like there may have been some pushing leading up to the punch.. and when that didn't work he pulled his knife… or perhaps he did get it from another person? We don't know yet.. because the filming is not comprehensive.. and they're not showing it to us
Hopefully the ones who attacked him think twice before attacking more people. The world is a better place with the young thug off the streets.. and rivers.
Read the articles in the video. Miu punched girl following verbal altercation. Boy then punched miu and pulled a knife. Miu twisted the kids arm and stabbed him with his own hand. Then took the kids knife and stabbed the other 4 oncoming aggressors who just saw their friend stabbed, also all getting stabbed as the result.
Self defense my ass. I guarantee if he really was being ganged up on by all these young kids if he would just have announced to them to back off I have a weapon on me those kids wouldn’t have engaged anything. He basically pulled the knife out and much like a sucker punch he stabbed and slashed them. They were defenseless and blind sided. Totally ruthless.
What came of his claim that they had knives too? Did cops keep searching after finding his knife? Seems to me there are lots of waterproof metal detectors around these days,why not recruit enough of them to search every square inch of the shallow water? If more freshly dropped knives are found then it strengthens the defendant's case,if no more are found it strengthens the other side…. Heck,I even own a metal detector that's waterproof up to the control unit,so about 3' deep safely.
I'm starting to think everyone was wasted. Interesting that part of the (MIU's) bail/release stipulations were no alcohol and 4 times daily testing. I thought the group attacked were 16-17 year old. Only one 17 year old and rest in 20's. These were (4) grown adults + 17 year old against him. He was a 52 year old out of shape guy maybe 70 lbs overweight on top of it.
The System Will charge anyone but it depends if anyone died as a result .I am a Former Security Officer by Trade Been Attacked ten times while working high risk zones ,six Attack's with guns,four attacks with stabbing weapons, believe me the system doesn't care ,they still charge you,one coworker was found Dead at a High risk site
