Detect to Engage (DTE) – US Navy’s Self Defense System Detects & Tracks, Engages Hostile Aircraft
The amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) performs a Detect to Engage (DTE) exercise with a P-8 Poseidon assigned to the Patrol Squadron (VP) 26 Tridents. DTE Tests the ships ability to track and engage low-flying aircraft using integrated Air Surveillance and Self Defense Systems training.
