If you wear a make America great hat or are a Christian your doomed . I use Karate as a defense and it hasn't ever let me down , my back up is a key in my fist , that's know to do big damage . Thanks Bill for the pointers and we'll take your advise.
Cold Steel makes a pretty good poly blackthorne cane. Doesn't have the hook, but it's got a good-sized knob at the end. For most social occasions, the cane is the primary, the pistol the secondary.
Bill, my son Chris (who put me onto you) used to teach airport security around the world. He always taught them it wasn't reasonable force, as that can mean one thng to one person and another thing to someone else… but more JUSTIFIABLE force. If you end up going to court, you will have to be able to justify the amount of force used.
Back in the times of the Civil War, the democrats were the conservative party and the Republicans were the liberal party. Today it's switched. Conservatives have always been against social progress and liberals have always been for it. And honestly, there really isn't a liberal party in America today. The Republicans are the far right party, and the democrats are the center right party.
Just wondering but couldn't you kill someone with the metal cane if you hit them hard enough in the head or something? And wouldn't that end up with the same result as shooting them (legally speaking)? I guess it's over all safer but there's still a good chance of getting indicted.
bill, I'm disabled. I walk with a light weight aluminum crutch. I have facial injuries and a blind side. if a man child took a swing at my face let alone trip me up to humiliate me. no I won't draw on the trip up. but taking a swing at my face should deem a justifiable draw from my concealment. the next few milliseconds determines a squeeze. with your past experiences would that be justifiable.
I am a long-time advocate of an "all of the above" approach, as in knowing how to use multiple forms of self-defense. These include hand-to-hand and a variety of weapons (not just/only guns). Training and regular practice with each are musts. Let us not forget how much a cool head can help, too! Walking away can be the right choice, too.
As a single woman, on more than one occasion being mindful of my surroundings (and escape routes/hiding places/places where I could run for help) and keeping a cool head while having one hand on a weapon of some sort kept me out of harm's way. That being said, if I have to fight I will and me in Honeybaginator mode is not something anyone wants to experience. [Insert famous hulk line about getting angry here] 😉

Good advice & I have 2 old wood canes.. One good shot in the face gives time to flee!
