@papimaximus95 says:

Do NOT take this as video as legal, medical or tactical advice. Please check the local, state and federal laws to which your situation may apply. A weapon is ALWAYS a weapon if "..carried, fashioned, used or designed" to be a weapon. Yes, intent matters. You are NOT fooling anyone. If you have a legitimate need for a cane, then so be it. If you have other motives, you can still be charged with a weapons violation. Seek legal advice from someone NOT on YouTube.

@curly__3 says:

If you're disabled and need a cain or older and faking a disability, whatever, you probably don't have the strength and stamina to use a cane properly for your self preservation. Someone will just rip that out of your hands and use it on you. Nothing, and i mean, nothing takes the place of a firearm in the modern world for self preservation. Pepperball guns, knives, pepper spray, canes, etc…all of it is a joke, especially if you're older and weaker or even if you're younger and weaker. Most of those things will just get you further into trouble if you get into a situation.
That said, if you do not have a clear and level headed understanding of firearm laws, self preservation laws, and a realistic understanding of how the law works in the area you are carrying a firearm at, you will very likely do something stupid with that firearm and get put in prison for a very long time. So you have to weigh everything. But a cane is a very poor choice for someone that is not very physically strong, does not have a very strong grip, doesn't work out often, and has arthritic weakness, etc…not to mention you need to be very fast to use that properly. The real world is not a hollywood movie, the real world is having a person that is athletically built and on crazy pills coming at you like a spider monkey. If you're in an area that is checked thoroughly for weapons and no one is armed, then you need to rely on the security given by the government, and your physical ability to take a beating or worse, like the good british subject you are being conditioned to be. If you're on a plane, you need to let younger, stronger people handle the situation and stay out of the way. All you're going to do with that cane in an airplane situation is arm a crazy person with a 42 inch long piece of hickory such that younger stronger people will have that much of a harder time getting the crazy under control.

I like a high lumen flashlight with a strobe option. Activating that strobe in someone’s face will at the very least (at night) will temporarily blind them. Giving you 10-30 seconds where they can’t see you.

I’m old so I’m not running away. Rather I’m taking those seconds to attack various spots of your body.

Testicles
Eye
Throat.

Sometimes I need a cane, but I’d use the flashlight first thus negating the attacker’s ability to block the strikes I’d give with the cane.

Knees
Elbows
Temples.

In that order. A solid hit on the temple, with all your adrenaline-aided force, can do serious damage.

Knees? Same. He’s not going to be able to sprint for a while at least. Elbows? His striking ability will go away for a while.

@Family-Guardian says:

Canemasters….and train with it!

@davidglazener7921 says:

😅Good video. I own a laminated cane and am fully satisfied with it. It is "the real deal". If you Google it, laminated wood is actually harder and more stable than hickory! Cane Masters do make the best canes in America. Gary Hernandez in Florida has an EXCELLENT channel about canes and cane self defense. Thanks.

@jtr109 says:

Joe Robaina out of Miami also makes excellent defense canes. His trainers are under $200.

@velazquezarmouries says:

I make hardwood and stag antler walking sticks and I know those things can pack a serious wallop

As teddy Roosevelt said speak softly and carry a big stick

@allenelam6135 says:

I have one of the Cain. Master Cains
They are the best I have found.
I heard about them from another U-Tuber that has online and in person classes in Florida.
A great way for people that are maybe a little weaker or have less mobility to protect themselves.
Thanks for sharing.

Great, Informative Video👍

@grumpy59 says:

I have needed to use a cane for quite a few years now. I became aware of their tactical possibilities and got one from Cane Masters. It is hickory heartwood and has special features that maximize it's defensive use. I have used that cane for about 23 years now and it has never let me down. The cane has been worth it's weight in gold and CM is a great company.

@Sanchito209 says:

Coldsteel has a few good options walking sticks/canes.
