the first amendment also applies to compelled speech so it is indeed unconstitutional to be forced to answer the question about having a firearm. same about gag orders. but the state doesn't care about how airtight their arguments are, they'll do whatever they want because they can.

I've seen when an police officer grabs someone and forcibly puts them against a wall. HARD! Speaks in a threatening manner handcuffs the individual, threatens them with arrest only to release them with visible injuries and no apology. A complaint is made but nothing happens. WHY? Is there any recourse the individual can take? Will it cost a lot of money to pursue? In cases like this it seems the poor are at a MAJOR disadvantage.
