Hawai’i is like the twilight zone, where common sense gets thrown out the window.

Greg Carter says:

That attorney came across like he's personally biased against self defense.

EM F says:

1) How did the criminals know about a gun and money in the man's vehicle, was it in plain sight?
2) Did the owner report it stolen before the shooting?
3) Why would the criminals return to the man's property? .. to say we're sorry here's your gun back? Criminals robbed equipments "three times" and nothings been done about it. Time to install security cameras and lights. By the way, that Matson shipping container sure looks big as a house!!

Why self-defense laws are a complete joke.

Rainbow Star says:

Hawaii is the worst place of all the 50 states to own a personal firearm as a private citizen. If it is fired for any reason aside from the gun range even in Justified circumstances like this you still going be for the prosecutor and a judge, jury etc. if necessary. Of course the final result is jail time! Yes! Even in Self-Defense. I am Pro Gun and also Pro Conceal Carry Legally. But Hawaii’s laws are so narrow and strict even in justified cases like this Waianae case where the home owner was clearly defending his life, family and property from imminent immediate threat by Protecting himself he can still be looking at jail time if the prosecutors cannot line up his actions in line with Hawaii very defined narrow laws revolving firearm’s in self defense! My advice to the homeowner! Hire a very good defense attorney whim can win this case hands down. If he finds an attorney like this than he’s going to be alright.

DBoogie says:

This is nonsense! If citizens don't have the basic right to protect their families and their homes, then what do they have? I can tell you that these criminals have no regard for the law!

J J says:

Glad they passed the tazer law

kawika dee says:

The victim is innocent. 3 armed dangerous idiots came to his house and shot at him so he did good, and I'm pretty sure they regret shooting him.

Ragdoll B says:

It was self defense.

Gamer Dell says:

dumb. why does our state give criminals all the rights?

Tobias Birmingham says:

Doug chinn is no expert.

JL says:

And this is why criminals in Hawaii will continue to commit crimes while law abiding citizens have to live in fear and pick up the pieces. Good job Democrats, we will soon follow California and NY. Look at how poorly they have handled crimes.

808redneckify says:

If only Hawaii adopt Florida stand your ground and castle doctrine laws I bet criminals might think twice🤷‍♂️ or atleast can't prosecute the home owner lol 😆

Bin Nny says:

Nice container.
