I put my weapon in a holster which I have installed between the right edge driver's seat and center console so it is right by my hip. It is too difficult* to access from a seated position and with seatbelts from the holster on my person unless I am using a crossdraw holster. ( That is ideal when driving but it's not the greatest positioning for the weapon otherwise. )
* It was even difficult, slow and cumbersome to draw from an ALS holster on a duty belt, much less any sort of CCW rig ( again except for crossdraw ).
John, maybe the victim would have been better off to use his vehicle (force multiplier) to lay tire tracks over the downed perp, as he was still a deadly threat in that moment…instead of exiting the passenger side of his car?

Brazil: 2 guys on a motorcycle = just shoot.
Good shooting
I've done the under the thigh thing many times, but it's usually still in the holster.
Is there actually an ASP video not from Brazil? 😂
