I was a aged care nurse caring for an older man with parkinsons who was once a 5th or 6th Dan in his Martial Art which i forget what it was. He had a huge shrine in one corner of his living room with all his awards, swords, pictures and belt all set up. His grandson was there and we all got talking, the boy idolised his grandfather and had dreams of grandeur and being just as powerful as his Pops. I know from exerience with a cousin who was a genuine tough guy and involved with the underworld. The cousin is too old now and just wants out, but due to his reputation everyone still wants a piece of him to test themselves, and he hates it. I asked the boy if he knew the greatest defense that beats all other martial arts and he just looked at me puzzled. I said "Scream like a girl and run in the opposite direction and hope like hell that they look at you like you're an idiot and don't bother to give chase!" The old man just laughed and said "YES! YES! YES!!!" all the while the boy looked at me indignantly. He was apparently giggling for the remainder of the day thinking about what i said.
I just watched your video on anxiety management, specifically regarding self-defense and fighting. As someone who struggles with an anxiety disorder, I found your approach incredibly interesting. Even though I’ve never been in a life-or-death fight myself, I’ve had very similar experiences with anxiety. It seems I have learned to use my anxiety to my advantage. I used to race mountain bikes. Without that nervous energy or that extra bit of anxiety—like the fear of getting diarrhea before a race—I was actually slower. I have noticed the exact same thing in my current competitions. I am a competitive shooter (Steel Challenge, IPSC, etc.). If I step up to the line without feeling nervous, things don't go well. I am somehow slower and too relaxed. I have no stress symptoms, but my performance is always worse.I try to apply this to my everyday life. Thanks to this hyper-awareness, I was able to protect my kids from a swarm of bees, and I once avoided a brawl in a parking garage because I saw it coming. However, this keeps me in a constant state of tension. I am still searching for that healthy balance.
Building a defensive mindset builds the flinch; otherwise, it's the default. You want to be the attacker when you are attacked? Learn to attack attacks; until then, enjoy being nervous for the rest of your life, hahahahahahaha
if youve ever done psychedelics, hes explaining avoiding psychosis. you have to clear your fear to manage the fight of your mind. because your imagination is hyper intensified.
after the initial first few seconds of a fight and altercations iv had facing weapons or being outnumbered as soon as my adrenaline kicks in i go into a flow state and feel super calm but usually have some build up so maybe the surprise attack or flinch stops your adrenalin
Who should I film with next? 🎥

Lmao just run away. If you outrun a guy you've won your fight.

#1 pre-contact cue – someone swipes their nose with their thumb!
LadiesNever be scared to bite. poke and scratch wg you get attacked
The Best fight you fought is the one you didn’t fought
The shyt bro send me
Boxers and mma guys think they can beat any guy on the street but in reality they have only fought with people of their weight class
This problem you've explained with martial arts is the reason Bruce Lee invited his own based on all of them.
