Leaving your vehicle running is a dumb move. Walking up to the guy stealing it who just pointed a gun at you, while armed only with a broom and dustpan is beyond stupid.
No denying the stupid factor in the 2nd video… but how do you rob a hardworking guy cleaning YOUR stomping grounds at like 2 in the morning? I bet he’s a family man too. Poor guy 😔
It’s be nice to get some kind of data breakdown of how often an armed robbery ends in a homicide with compliance and what warning signs of that there are… meaning if you aren’t sure if you should comply then if you see certain red flags that they might off you as a witness then maybe you want to fight back… it seems that in a lot of these if the store clerk or whatever wanted to resist they’d have a decent chance but it also seems if they comply 99 to 1 they don’t get hurt…
I concur with John's opinion that firing a flare gun is a substantial threat to one's person both objectively, i.e. reasonably, and subjectively because the assailant can reload and has demonstrated a clear intent to do harm. However, reasonable minds can differ but I am just a licensed attorney.
These both could have been prevented in my opinion. Flair gun was empty after the shot, so really no danger anymore. 2nd one if you're stupid enough to leave your vehicle running and the door unlocked you deserve to have it stolen.

In some states, the insurance won't insure a vehicle if the car is running. Owner might just have lost $30k. https://www.carinsurance.com/Articles/leave-keys-ignition-texas-law.apsx
They lucky wasn't in Brazil or they be dead robber.

The best carjacking prevention is to drive a jalopy.
Can't say I'm surprised.

Was that truck running? Why? Why would you leave it running?
Leaving your car unlocked and unattended is already stupid. Leaving the keys in the ignition is beyond stupid.
John, not everyone has full coverage/coverage against theft.
That first dude was huffn and puffn away on his huffy
These attack-flare guns have no place on our streets where they can hurt our children😪
In the 2nd video, it would have been something if the victim pulled out a Street Sweeper on the street trash.
He shot the only flare at the clerk, but the clerk was concerned he might also have a life preserver or an EPIRB.

Hard to believe someone would leave their car running and unlocked…especially at night….goodbye truck!
One shot flare gun isn't much of anything after the first shot.
Dem controlled Area? These males have had their testes removed?
We need to to ban Flare guns 😂
Both vids make me angry. Stupidity on both people.
a stoner with a single shot flare gun and a Schwinn! Dude abides!
Well 1st off, a flare gun only holds 1 flare he probably could have scared this guy off

Incompetence all around, from everyone, in both videos.
I'm seeing a dead criminal in a few years from that second video.
