Trying to put my 73 year old self in those scenarios to come up with a "what could/would I have done differently"… The first punch/kick was lightening fast and until that instant was there "legal" justification for pepper spray or deadly force? Was there a fraction of a second of opportunity to deploy that force before their brains were stunned into shock mode by the first blow? – For me, I think having my Ruger LCR 38 Special+P in the appendix position would have been easier and faster to deploy in the sitting position after the first blow than my Glock 48 which is IWB at 3:30. Because I live in a rural area carrying a backup gun rarely occurs to me, but with the speed our country and society are crashing that may change.
