I always advocate for Mixed Martial Arts for self defense, because it's the most realistic. Mixed martial artists know that if you short stroke your punches like in the video, you will get hurt in the cage. In the street you will get hurt or killed if you think those short stroked punches or even those baton strikes will fend off serious attackers. If they practiced good technique in that area, I'd say it looks like a good system. That is a big factor in a fight though, especially on the street considering that most street fighters are going to be swinging for the fences, so you better be throwing strikes that are meant to put your opponent down as quick as possible, IMO.

Even though MMA alone doesn't teach you all the different street variables, if you train in MMA you will know what to do when put in pretty much any position, and you can use your MMA knowledge and technique to practice whatever scenarios you can think of. โœŒ๐Ÿ’š..

Some of us like to stand our ground instead of running away .

@globyois says:

EXCELLENT WORDS on the โ€œturn and runโ€ idea.
If you donโ€™t know how to protect yourself, then sure, run.
F you do . . . teach the assailant a good strong lesson.

I am making a walking stick. It's legal everywhere and very effective.

@JCOwens-zq6fd says:

Absolutely agree. I survived being attacked by 2 people. One with a "pew pew" & the other with a knife but i've basically trained martial arts my whole life & i still got stabbed 3 times, lost a chunk of my scalp from a bullet grazing my head, etc. My advice would be to exercise situ awareness & walk the str8 & narrow so you dont end up in those kinds of situs to begin with. Plus train, train, train under pressure.

@fredvomjupiter8849 says:

It's all about how you evaluate the attacker …………….is the attacker a psycho or a poser or a fighter……………. or…or….or………………………………………..

You have to evaluate your opponent quick and right to choose the right response.

@thelastgeneration1926 says:

this is a super legit system. i like it a lot actually.

@surfside16 says:

I just wasted 17 minutes of my time watching this video.

@philhagoes9339 says:

I always tried to walk away, avoidance, until I wasnt allowed to do that. It works until it doesnt, then you have to go all out.

@AndreaPick says:

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, will be looking more into this. Nice one.

@anthonycastro2146 says:

what baton do you recommend?

@FekalistaGrzybowory-lz8lh says:

Exactly.
You never know what you will be facing on the street.
I always opted for going hard in self defense. But not many martial arts instructors seems to understand that in situation where your life is in danger, or your love ones, there's no predictable behavior from the attacker. So I totally agreed with creating lot of scenarios and for going hard to oponent. In total it is your life your protecting.
Greetings
