While ignoring whether you think it's a good idea or not, there are places in the world that legally prohibit carrying a weapon of any kind- "self defence weapons" simply don't exist as a legal bracket. Many therefore carry a maglite in their car, because it's a legit tool that they might reasonably be expected to have in a door pocket in case of a breakdown at night. But it's also, theoretically, good for defending yourself. Maybe not, but I'd be interested if anyone has any suggestions for alternatives! And no, "moving somewhere with different laws" isn't the advice I was after!
I love that Mike doubled back to acknowledge what his son said about concussive damage. Not even because that was a fair point but because thats his boy yenno?
I didn't get the point of the parts of the video where he was grappling with a guy twice his size/weight with the Maglite. He's twice his size/weight. I don't think the Maglite really matters at that point. Then he sets up a camera next to a wobbly wooden structure holding a fake skull he's about to test the Maglite on and then strikes inward toward the camera. Not the brightest bulb in the Christmas tree this guy. Pun intended. Then he sets it up on the hood of a vehicle.. like dear Lord, Mike, stop.

The small one at the beginning is already ridiculously big (for a non-impact weapon flash light at least)
5:55 The way that Cliff is just like "Forget the flashlight, I'm just gonna deal with you directly." is pretty telling.

striking force is what's matters
Alol, 6 D cell battery flashlight. Maybe it will last 7 hours longer for like search and rescue.
Wow, the image is crazy as I thought initially it was a zombie defense video or something.
3:06 My Flashlight is bigger and blacker than yours
10:34 you gotta save the go pro first lol
I know a cop that broke his own forearm with a maglite trying to administer "thump therapy," as you call it.
I used a 4d mag light to beat a drive line in on a truck it worked very well
Does someone want to explain to him about the "other" potential use of the long black shaft of an oversized flashlight, or nah.
They aren't even good flashlights. Had one in my car for camping, dead bulb in under a year.
