Traditional Tools says:

It's a mess. I've been walking to my car from the work site, downtown, and forgot linesman pliers in my pocket. They were in plain site. I've been told that's not allowed because I could end up using them in my defense……in sketchy downtown construction areas. Where many others have been mugged.

Dariusz W says:

I don't need earthly laws to tell me if I can or can not defend myself or my family. To preserve my life is God's given right.

Hof says:

I got a nice handmade v42/fs custom dagger made, 4 1/2” double sided blade. Can i carry it legally around town? Im in alberta

darren dorion says:

Canada is retarded someone gets in my space they are going down f*×k the law

Larry K says:

I 'd rather be alive in prison then dead
or crippled by a criminal or aggressor.
I will use extreme prejudice against all
percieved aggression toward my family,
my neighbors and my own wellbeing.
Make no mistake whomever you may
be. Maximum resistance will be used
to your hurt. Peroid!

Wade Gram says:

A gun in the trunk is much more likely to end up in the hands of criminals after they break into your car than ever be useful to yourself in a self defense situation
If u are storing it legally with the ammo separate you will not be able to get it quickly enough to help probably better to use the car as a weapon

captain crankypants says:

You may beat charges against you for the audacity of defending yourself, but you may face financial ruin for your legal defense, with no compensation. And it won't dissuade the authorities from doing it again to someone else because they are not accountable for the tax dollars they are quite willing to waste to ' send a message'. We have a legal system, not a justice system.

C J says:

Being attacked or assaulted here in Canada does not give you the right to unleash your inner lion. There is a fine line between defensive actions, and transitioning them to offensive actions….. The key is knowing when to stop; so quickly terminating your opponent isn't acceptable unless they are trying to quickly terminate you ~ equal force.

metzerr says:

I have to chime in and ask people to be very, very careful on this. The definition between reasonable defense (stopping an individual / individuals from causing you any further harm) and assault with or without a weapon (beating an attacker/s within an inch of their life) is a thin line that prosecutors won't hesitate to blur (Your just another case file to them, another opportunity to score browny points with the corrupt magistrate and climb that political ladder). Remember you are guilty till proven innocent, You'll be spending serious cash to keep yourself out of prison and even then no guarantee, (Guy in Ontario found that out the hard way, stayed out of prison but lost access to firearms for the rest of his life because he choose to defend himself and his property with a firearm and was justified to do so {not the first time he had to deal with the suspects in question}, but then again corrupt magistrate…). If your going to carry a knife, carry it in the wide open where it is plainly visible (can not be accidentally covered by any clothing, RCMP or OPP will be all over concealed carry). If approached by a peace officer keep your hands visible at all times and let him / her know it's a "tool of your trade" (See Canadian Charter of rights and freedoms). Even then there is a good chance that it could get confiscated, I'd rather lose a blade then get charged with concealed carry. Your video touched on carrying a firearm, That's an ATC (Authorization to Carry), Your right it is rare / extremely hard to get except in the circumstances of being a prospector (precious metal mining), However you'll have to be out in the bush. Carrying it around TO or downtown Vancouver isn't going to fly. If this BS Order in Council hadn't come down the pipe sure carry in your locked trunk with a trigger lock, unloaded (I'd even go so far as to remove the action to be on the safe side of the law), ammo stored in a separate location of the vehicle were the two cannot be easily joined (in a locked container, again be on the safe side of the law). Don't give anyone the opportunity to "make an example out of you" or "You failed to demonstrate sufficient storage and secure of said firearm/s while in transit", Same thing goes for at home.

Danny L says:

God help you if you hurt or kill an intruder in your house……Canadian laws are designed to benefit the criminal

Danny L says:

I'll tell you how bad it is in Canada. having an inert bullet on your key chain will get you searched, interrogated, and accused of having an illegal gun…..I will never have anything gun related on my person any more. there's overzealous cops that are scared of everything

TheRottMachine says:

Keep it coming, dueling is legal in Canada most people think of guns but you can challenge to fisty cuffs; touch on that please.
