What an awesome event this will be!

Southern Rebel says:

I have been a firearms instructor, but I am not currently a certified instructor. I would definitely say to get a certified instructor like sirknight438, if he's a certified instructor. But no matter if you agree with handguns or not, ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. Never walk a straight line from the store exit door to the vehicle/RV door. Know what's around you and what's/who's around your vehicle/RV. I believe this kind of class would be very beneficial and rewarding for all nomads to live a long and uneventful (as in less likely to be seriously injured or killed) life. Thank you Jamie for giving ZenQuest this platform to make this announcement, anywho Y'all take care and YHVH bless.

Roselee DeTevis says:

Great thing to put into action …years back when I worked in Downtown LA the company provided us employed self defence classed after several people got mugged during their commute to work earlier and late hours …and amazing enough I was able to put it to use later thru the years

Roadrunner 17 lee says:

Iโ€™m interested in the event as a learner.

Start The Rebellion says:

Best weapon you'll ever have is your brain! Common sense and awareness will keep you safer than anything else by avoiding a bad situation before it even starts. – I fully support self defense training efforts as well, but avoiding unnecessary risks and diffusion/deescalation are always your best bets by far.

ย Protecting yourself, with the current legal environment we live in, carries with it some extreme potential consequences for you. You can go from victim to defendant in an instant. And even if you're lucky enough to successfully defend yourself in criminal and/or civil courts, the cost to you in time, stress, and legal fees can be life changing.

Again, use your brain… Learn how to spot risky situations and people and don't get yourself in bad situations to begin with.

Stephen Dorje says:

Subscribing full fear of others that are different… Encouraging paranoia and it seems by comments retaliation. People need real education on self defense… Not just an angry person… Not good Jamie

Adriane C says:

I have experience as a Rape Crisis counselor, professional counselor, RN, Red Cross Disaster Volunteer and more. I want to help. Please have a kids self defense too. Letโ€™s teach em young

Terrapin Travels says:

This is important, but not sure how it will go. At least two death threats at van build party this year, (that I knew about), so the easiest thing to do for safety. Stay away from large groups and focus on your journey. For me this is a spiritual and healing path, Iโ€™ve decided not to attend RTR.

One day, this type of event is going to produce real violence. And Iโ€™m busy fighting my own demons and canโ€™t handle someone elseโ€™s.

Stay safe. Peace and love will rule the day.

Lynda B says:

I'm 71 years young and very interest in your plans for the 2019 van build event.

Wanna Wander says:

Good for you! This sounds like a great event.

Goodolboy One says:

Police have said to keep a couple cans of wasp & hornet spray on hand. It shoots up to 25 feet and if you can hit the attacker in the face in the eyes, that will make the attacker back down…. Just saying.

Ruth Ann Sayger says:

Yes yes & yes! People are watching you & don't even realize. It happened to me in Flagstaff (A1 Mountain Rd) in July. I was in a shop repairing a flat tire. As I was paying a man approached me & said "hay your staying at A1 Mt Rd" Took me by surprise! Before I could say anything- he described my rig looked in back of the shop, saw my rig & announced yep that's you!!!! I was in shock. Returned back to A1 Mt Rd & lucky for me was in a little group type. I barely was explaining what had just happened & HE DROVE UP!!! By that time I was not scared but ANGRY. When HE started to assess the situation & said " I thought you might need protection". I had to think quick. I told him " you didn't pay attention to my tags? You see I am from TX – open carry so I'm NOT traveling ALONE & I know how to use it! So wrong I do not need your help so get the hell out of here before I call the ranger!" While he was leaving I took a picture of him, his rig & tags. Never ever expected that.

JoJo Wallace says:

Thanks for addressing this topic.

In the meantime, check out Active Self Protection on YouTube. It will get you thinking about the things you need to think about and learn in order to keep yourself safe before you sign up for a self-defense class.

This is a great idea! I can help with firearms safety and shooting skills and I have someone who has a wide variety of intense self-defense knowledge who said he would help depending on timing ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž

sykwookiee says:

I have defended myself with my firearm without firing a shot several times when I was an OTR trucker…but, always try to be prepared mentally to take a human life…first time it happened to me, I cried like a baby…yeah, I know, they should revoke my man card…but, I went home and he went to the coroner's office…I still have a touch of PTSD…a bit of nature's medicine helps in that regard…my mantra is; be safe, remain vigilant, and carry a weapon…๐Ÿ˜‰…ฤรฃ wรตรตฤทฤฏฤ™ฤ™…I recommend Guns and Gadgets on YouTube for the latest on firearm laws…

Rays Travel says:

What no handgun giveaway? C-MON how about a pistol grip shotgun. Now that's an event. Maybe $20 a ticket for a raffle.

Ohio Lady says:
