The best “pocket carry” pistol for self defense

My opinions on the current pocket carry pistols on the market and why I choose the one I carry.

Huh, the Sig Shooter picked a Sig product…. #Shocker

Coleman Custom Guitars says:

Every has a favorite and it doesn't mean the rest are not good. I had a KelTec P380 for yrs. and did not like it very much. It was affordable and reliable and would get me out of trouble if needed. Like most tools , handguns are only as good as their operators. I want a Sig.

I have both a Sig p238 and an original Colt mustang, both gifts from my wife. They are both very good dependable shooters with quality ammo, both have good triggers, the mags also interchange so I can get the plus one in Colt also. The sights on the Sig are definitely better, the safeties are a little different in that the Colt is 1911 style and the Sig is more of a true modern type safety. I love both and can easily pack them in light clothing. That said, they are not my go to choice for edc, I prefer something a little bigger, but they are a viable option and don't leave me feeling like I brought a knife to a gun fight. I do agree this guy is smitten and a little bit over the top in his review, but to each their own.

I prefer my LCP II

Floyd French says:

Not the best. Just expensive.

Will Niles says:

I believe the Glock 42 is the best .380 pocket pistol.

Steve A. says:

Kimber DC 10 micro .380 works for me.

I'm happy with my Glock 17, don't need a tiny gun for CC

ISEE YOU says:

A lot of nice polymers out there with safety and without. I carry a P938.. I had a P238. I have owned an XDS 9, M&P Shield, LCP. the Ruger LC9s is a great budget gun with a good trigger. I would not say the polymers are any worse than the sig options.

ROB NAVAEI says:

These are too big to be considered as pocket pistol.
