Excellent instinct on the clerk behind the counter to grab his gun the second the cockroach walked back into the store. It's an instant feeling when certain creeps walk into the store.
My neighbor thinks I am crazy. When I am outside my house I have a handgun on an old Army cartridge belt with spare mags. We are in a very rural area and my neighbor always thinks things are great and bad people do not travel. They do! He comes over some mornings for coffee. Living remote like this we are a minimum of 30 minutes to an hour of LEO response of any sort due to the geography / distances. We have our issues here in South Texas with illegals, cartels, and sundry brigands. My place has yet to have a successful break in. I have 4 pits, security system, a police siren, tons of exterior lighting, and proper weaponry. My neighbor? Three break in. One when he was there. Lucky for him the ran when they realized he was there. He does not believe in guns. Christ said we are to love everyone, but some are harder to love than others.

Imagine having to work at a place like that……having to be always on guard against criminals trying to rob you….can't be good for your mental health.
