If its Chicago i could imagine them thinking a guy going the wrong way was attempting a hit or something but three quaters of US shows make out most drivers in Chicago are going to do a drive by shooting at some point lol.
They pointed guns bc rival gangs ride down one ways the wrong way on drive bys sometimes to catch them off guard. It’s like if you see a car driving by slow with the headlights off at night.
Out of curiosity, since we can read the coordinates where this street is I just Googled it and, man, no wonder he made a wrong turn… Some idiot planted a small tree in front of the traffic sign so it's almost concealed now if you're driving in that direction. StreetView lets me check how it was a few years ago and there was no tree at all, with the sign perfectly visible.
I live in the burbs of Chicago and have to sometimes go into these bad neighborhoods for work. When I do I make sure to drive my old Dodge Ram in case I end up in a situation like this. If you can’t Dodge it,Ram it!
After a visit to my brother in Oakland, we took a wrong turn. I could stop here in the story and people would already know nothing good happened next. We went to make a u turn and were blocked by a car that pulled up in front of us to shoot up a house. I was window to window to them as they were firing shots, it was terrifying. We had two small children and my mother in the car and I thank God that there weren’t any bullets flying in our direction. The car pulled away and we saw people laid out on the yard shot. I will never return to Oakland.
A rule in Chicago is to never come down the wrong way on a 1 way. Usually means the car is about to do a drive by. That’s why those guys jumped out ready .

I've talked to them about a stolen bag, and the cop proceeded to interrogate me and demand personal info about me as if I was the criminal. really, cop? it was my bag. wtf? "what was in it???!?!" me: ugh. a book/ipod? thats not illegal but ok bro- also why are you blaming the victim? the criminal is the perp. tf.
When I came from the South to work in Chicago, my boss wanted to send me to the south side of Chicago. I responded hell no. Send someone who is familiar with it.With this exact interaction in mind. Now I realize how right I was.

I grew up in this neighborhood, my mother still lives there, refuses to leave . My liberal sisters haven’t gone to our mothers home in years ( too dangerous they say ). I’m the conservative black sheep who moved in 1986, and will only go back to the hood in the day time, and armed . I’m retired PD so I can carry, don’t forget this is Chicago , strictest gun laws in the country, next to impossible to get a CCW.
Thanks to the dashcam video GPS coordinates, this was W 47th and S Ada street. He proceeded south on Ada from 47th. I grew up on the Sout Side of Chicago (we tend not to pronounce our "Hs") but closer to Midway Airport. I would definitely consider this area questionable most definitely at night but I doubt I would of had high concerns during the day. The guy did the right thing getting out of there quickly.
I moved to another state in 96 and had to come back when my Dad had major health concerns a few years ago. There was a shooting at the end of my parents street the night before I came home. While there a woman rear ended me. The hood of her car had several bullet holes in it. Lastly, my friend, with ties to CPD, told me during this time a crime scene team processing a shooting had to go back to the station for more numbered placards because they run out after 200. So, I doubt Police would have been too concerned over someone popping off one round and no one was injured.
In Southside Chicago it is to be expected that a person will shoot at you for driving the wrong way up a one way. Edit I don't think the stop sign on the left at 5:23 is doing much.

For me even if I was carrying I’d still get the hell out of there I wouldn’t have drawn my own fire arm until they impeded my escape
