Why didn’t he just hold him on the ground instead of letting him go and then shoot him? Perp walks away and then gets shot. I don’t know about this. Security guard was CLEARLY capable of controlling the perp. Can carry a gun but not handcuffs? And he pulled the gun out way before the dude spit on him. I hate these people walking out with mech like they can, just like the rest of you. Where I’m from that couldn’t even happen, but if they don’t give murderers the death penalty here, a robber shouldn’t be able to get killed by a guard, because he got spit on and was pissed off he couldn’t prevent the stealing. Just not ok. No matter how big of a POS the perp was.
Not according to any use of deadly force definition that I have ever seen. That's a completely unjustified killing. Now if the demographics were different he would be getting charged, of that I have no doubt! But the mere fact that you are trying to fit a square block into a round hole is extremely disappointing. There are millions of people that watch you most of which have no clue when they actually legally shoot someone. After watching you and the verbal gymnastics you just performed, someone that doesn't know better might think it's okay to shoot someone who spits on them and has started to back away with no weapon in sight. You should be ashamed!!!!. And when it happens I hope they drag your butt into court. IF you disagree just look at the coments.
An act of theft can easily ruin the victim's life… Imagine losing most of your worth or money you needed to pay rent or loans? It's act actually worthy of death in many cases but traditionally we allow for restitution.
Not saying "Bad Secruity Guard" and i'm agreeing that we need to stand up to these criminals. But IS it really justified? One of the top comments here said "The fact that people can just grab a bag of stuff and just try walking out shows how wild shit has gotten." But you can also say its even wilder that someone deserves to die for stealing a few groceries? This is some medieval shit.

Criminals don't have morals, why should I? They would as much murder me and not loose sleep, yet i'm expected to work from a deficit. Punishment.

A suspect telling someone they’re going to stab them should be all the justification needed for the use of deadly force.
