Self Defense with BB and Pellet Guns?

Several viewers have asked about my opinion on using an airgun as a self-defense weapon. After careful consideration, I give my answer in this video. I also …

Over all using an air gun for self defense is a very dumb idea. I would
suggest leaving airguns for the range target shooting and perhaps the
occassional small game hunting.

jewie27 says:

It is illegal to carry a loaded airgun in public.

TheCoiledViper says:

trip got banned i guess. he really dont know anything about what is
considered lethal. the U.S. military established in the 1930s that if a
projectile can penetrate half in pine board that its considered lethal. if
you really need the facts. search .22lr lethality test. should bring up
iraqiveteran8888 as the posting account. its that simple. not a accuracy
test but a lethality test. half inch pine board. its not going to be the
size or weight of the projectiles but penetration and the hole. just like
with .22lrs. try to dispute the .22lr in the same fashion makes you a
idiot. 22 lr.

Артем Спиридонов says:

Russia here. I strongly NOT recommend using airgun as defensive weapon,
because in 90 cases out of 100 it wont stop attacker, it will make him only
more angry. Pepper spray is better, since after around 3-6 seconds he will
be simply blind and disoriented.

wilde1 says:

Yeah your prediction is bang-on, I’ve actually been in a situation with a
hostile group on a train and when I pulled out an airgun after they began
mugging someone they only became inquisitive as to whether or not it was
real and then assaulted me with a knife and multiple assailants. I needed a
real gun in that situation and was very lucky to come out relatively
unharmed.

Younes Zreika says:

In Australia it’s legal to own a firearm but you have to have a gun licence
so that you can use it for some purposes but it also has to be approved by
the law and if you-shoot someone with it for a non reasonable use . You can
strait away get a gun if you are an officer of the law but you have to show
your officer badge to approve that you are then when each purchase of a gun
is made then the police station or headquarters takes a record of your
action made .

scott dennison says:

Anyone whom has ever owned an air gun knows how it feels to be shot with
one be it thru accident and or diseased curiosity, now think about that
pain for a moment, had that pain been inflicted intentionally and
repeatedly say about the head and face, well personally….you can keep
your pepper spray, give me the co2 and I’ll repel you till your black and
blue!!!!!Personally, I’ve got a M@P replica with the accessory rails which
I’ve incorporated a Diablo stun gun flashlight combo for added security
…… seems to be pretty awesome to me……

Ken Warner says:

let put this itno a more sencable view! if your not able or aloud to carry
a real fire arm then I would say I couldn’t hurt to carry a air gun for
self defence. I mean think about it. if you end up in a altercation having
a air gun is better than no gun lol. and more than likely a fire well
placed shot to certain areas mat not kill but would be more than enough to
disable someone by enough pain being inflicted. I mean your chances are
better with one than not to have one….

Collin Mitchell says:

I would carry a real gin while i was carrying the air gun just incase

Matt L says:

I think you should’ve pulled out buddy, I understand u wanting to diffuse
the situation but those fucks could just been looking for a problem and
found the next innocent person to take it out in however if u showed I
think the pussies would’ve probably learned not to fuck around cuz ya never
know whats around the corner

KR M says:

Daft idea, you pull a BB out that looks like a gun and the bad guys going
to draw and leave you as a smear on the side walk. Not to mention the
police make mistakes and shoot people with hair driers,

Steiner says:

Would a few bullets to the head knock them to the ground or at least give
you enough time to do something like pin them to the ground if it were only
1 person?

Stuart Gray says:

In the UK if you carried a concealed air weapon for self-defence purposes
(especially where that weapon is a good replica of a real firearm), you’ll
get the same penalty as carrying a real firearm. Likely 3-5 years jail…..

malik saleh says:

nice vid

scdriftking says:

ever thought about getting a black powder 1851 navy revolver ? or a
muzzleloader ?

Zarrakan says:

Problem with most airguns is their size. When you are talking about
CARRYING a means of self defense, you want it to be…well carryable, and
most airguns with any kind of take down will not fit in a pocket, regular
hostler, etc.

Mohammed Tusanu Rahman says:

thanx a lot for the video. It got all the answers to my question. so now i
can decide to buy an airgun. it may not act as a real gun but to a large
extent it can be usefull for self defence.

Sáss Alæssí says:

Thanx for that, very interesting amigo. Best to you. Peace, Sáss Alæssí
in Iceland

khairi muhammad says:

i have the same gun as him and yea from a distance or cloes it looks hella
real and i always use pellets and have a case with 2 co2 containers so im
good and i aim high so dont stick ur head out xD

blaowthismeow says:

i have an umarex XBG and let me tell yeah its a killer 19 rounds semi
automatic over 400fps ..gosh i love it but i wish i could make a bigger
magazine for it 19 just aint enough

Andrew Johnson says:

Spread peace and love not shooting others!!!

donze52 says:

Nice film, well thought out.
accuracy is everything, not pushing my film, but might be of interest to you
(Gun fighting with a BB gun) on donze52 channel if you want to see it in
action?

Tripandfall321 says:

Well if you want to end up in prison then you give good advice for doing
such

Tripandfall321 says:

That is a terrible idea. That will not stop or kill anyone, nor will it
bust a human skull. If you do have to use it throw good shot placement out
the window cuz of all the adrenaline alone will have your hands shaking
violently. a full size 9mm holds around 16-20 shots.

Tripandfall321 says:

.22 lr is not the most lethal round by any means. Though i do believe that
it is the gun most people are killed by, as it is the round most are shot
by. Your chances of survival after being hit by a .22 are much higher than
almost any other round. A .22 won’t end a fight instantly unless you hit
any of the central nervous system (.22 commonly deflect off skulls as
well), otherwise they could take a very long time to die, days even. Only
looking at fps is silly and meaningless by itself.

chinabot says:

I don’t pull out the strap unless I am going to clap.

TheCoiledViper says:

Lol nwd. Anyway one last thing. The daisy x622 is the only semi auto .22
pistol ever made by any company. Daisy discontinues the 622. And i believe
the reason they quit making it is because its capable of killing persons.
Its certainly not because it wasnt reliable or hard for them to build. They
still make the 693 and it came out a few years before. So ill let you
gather your own conclusion. If you want to find out if your gun is lethal
shoot a half inch pine board if it penetrates its capable.

TheCoiledViper says:

22Lr is the dealiest round ever created. Look it up its very true. Not many
people survive after being shot by a 22 lr. Gun nuts try to discredit the
effectiveness of the 22lr for self defense. Truth is its a very reliable
round when it comes to dispatching people. Its enough to get someone off of
you. Subsonic 22 lr in a pistol is reated at 700 fps. Only 300 more than
what my daisy fires. I would shoot someone with it. You look kinda dumb
using airsoft in your arguement. Not designed to kill.

TheCoiledViper says:

Mick lets do alittle thinking here. Slingshots are rated at 200 250 fps
david killed golaith with a sling. They can easily kill a dog or a similar
similar sized animal. Ive personally killed animals as big as raccoons with
a paintball gun you wear a mask in paintball for a reason if you ever been
to a match they chronograph your gun and make sure it fires at 200 fps.
Airsoft guns are completely different. For one they fire plastic bbs. My
gun fires what is basically a steel caseless .22 round.

OhhMick says:

Riiight, so something that shoots little metal BB’s at 400fps is going to
kill someone… does that mean that an airsoft sniper rifle can do just as
much damage?

Phil Williams says:

The Law here in the UK regarding self defense is pretty much messed up. Say
someone broke into your property and had a knife pointed at you, if you was
to so much as attack him with a baseball bat you, “the victim” will end up
in court trying to convince the Judge that you was trying to defend
yourself.

John Deebank says:

You did the right thing having your wife in the car. I assume that most men
would feel they need to be macho in front of her and make the mistake of
making a stand. You were able to go home alive. Well played.

TheCoiledViper says:

I have a 6×22 daisy pistol it has 400 fps behind it i think it would kill
someone if you shot for the face. Keep in mind a regular .22 pistol usually
has a muzzle velocity of 900 fps. But in all honesty i think you could kill
someone or give them one hellacious beating with a paintball gun.

korikisulda says:

Taking lessons in martial arts would probably serve you better

korikisulda says:

Where did you hear this? we’re legally perfectly entitled to use reasonable
force to defend ourselves…

wanabyastick says:

Try using it as a club. Most states have more restrictive laws on air guns
in public than real guns. Full auto, look int a modified drozd 1200 rpm
over 1000 fps no recoil accurate as hell good for suppressive fire with a
real gun for backup

dJavioNicS says:

Awful UK Laws they said, and it is right, in the UK the public legitimate
right to defense is banned, if somebody want to attack you, and having for
example a screwdriver will be considered a crime. I think no pepper spray,
no electrical stun gun, nothing. How do you tolerate this?

dJavioNicS says:

Clearly the airgun itself says “may cause severy personal injury or death,
not a toy”, the problem is the stopping power, if you want to take down an
attacker probably you will have no other choice but shoot it to TAKE DOWN,
otherwise the adrenaline is going to cause the subject not feel any impact.
Now shoot it to the neck or chest and for sure the guy will have a blackout
or even full heart failure, sorry if the grammar is not the best, i’m from
arg.

Slawa Smagliy says:

It is very hard to suck up your pride, especially if you have a gun and
they are not right.

Josh Hill says:

In the UK pulling an gun which resembles areal firearm can get you killed
by armed police units DO NOT USE THE FOR SELF-DEFENCE

mattxr2i says:

Or the youth you thought was unarmed might pull out a glock and shoot you
in the face splattering your brain on a near by wall. Air guns and self
defense don’t belong in the same sentence. You want a self defense tool,
get a real gun and learn how to use it.

elliott turner says:

just buy a .22 pistol. the most dangerous round you can buy ( other then
.223 of course).

fanter ttiforce says:

I hate the orange its so annoying 🙂
