A common belief is that Germans are not allowed to defend themselves. That couldn’t be more wrong. In fact, Germany has the most uncompromising, fierce self defense laws you can possibly imagine.
If anyone unlawfully attacks your life, body, freedom, possessions or even your honor, you are fully entitled to stand your ground and stop that attacker with any means available to you. This even extends to attacks against others – you are entitled to step in and fight against the perpetrator(s).
You can even use illegal weapons in a self defense situation. You may be charged for illegal possession, but not for whatever you had to do with the weapon to stop the aggressor.
Of course there are many “Ifs” and “Whens” that apply, but still the law is clear. The video has a lot of details and examples.
A “The Slingshot Channel” Production!
I'm going to say killing a person is kind of against the law at all times in Germany, unless in exceptionally threatening situations where the only other result would be your own dead. American law is quite different, they have grey area situations where 'the right to defend yourself' is basically a carte blanche for shooting a person in a more lethal way. American law still requires investigations of what happened determining whether self-defence was justified. But it has a larger gap between when potential violence would be lethal to the defender and his decision of the defender to shoot preventively.
Just spent almost 20 mins learning about laws of a country ive never been too! Thanks JoergSprave you rule! Love the videos its always interesting! I would love to visit Germany one day
I remember being in East Germany, i was a soldier, had people throw stuff at me, and all i had on my mind was how i can get my family out of this hell hole, we eventually successfully got to West Germany, 10 years later we went to New York on a boat, lady liberty welcomed us.
When he was talking about taking his guns and ammo out of separate safes before being able to protect himself, I looked up at my pistol sitting on a bookshelf 5 feet away, and then looked over at my shotgun leaning against a wall- this made me very Smug.
Plus what is also absolutely illegal are explosives ( which includes black powder in general) and even the chemicals that are known to be used in explosives are so strictly regulated that you can not just buy some saltpeter or acids to make yourself a boom like you can see on american channels
And you would have to add that teargas is generally ok to use against people. Pepperspray or pepper bullets are not only against wild animals. Otherwise as you say in self defense even if it is illeag in general it is ok to use…
it bugs the shit out of me when governments restrict stuff
Thanks for explaining

if i am 13 can i get a full metal arisoft gun without gas or c02?
wow I'd never want to live in germany you don't even have the right to defend your own home how you see fit.
so in germany how would subduing an attacker to have the police come to arrest them work in either situation?
You should've added the illegal tuning parts on guns, external as internal, such as flashlights or lasers
Somebody used a chainsaw to defend himself against a Reichsbürger a few days ago . Nearly cut his arms off .

German weapons laws are even worst than California
