Self Defense in a Wheelchair: Self Defense Scenario

Using a wheelchair offers its own, very different, set of challenges when it comes to self-defense. Your ability to engage or disengage from a scenario is different than that of a person who is not in a wheelchair. Check out this self-defense scenario as Casey is faced with a choice of using deadly force or finding a path to safety without engaging a threat of harm to other people. Awesome video thank you for posting this I cant wait until we hear his thoughts on how he handled this and his thoughts on how he carries his firearm I've been in a chair for a little over 20 years and still have yet to find a way that really works for me although I've only been carrying for about 10 years I really hope he gives a little info on things he's tried maybe he has tried something that will give me some more ideas

Maneuverability is definitely a concern. Looking forward to hearing his idea of how it went. Seemed like he was quick on the trigger and would like to know if he thought his LEO training had anything to do with that.

Mark Furukawa says:

Can't duck 'n' cover. Can't move and hold a gun at the same time. Last resort comes up MUCH sooner, though this was shaded by using a guy who's a former cop – different mindset from civilians. I often walk with a cane (and am an old fat guy) so last resort would come up much sooner for me, too. Drop the cane, or juggle it to my off hand, then draw gun. Then, any steps must be taken VERY carefully, or not at all. I wouldn't draw until the last possible moment and any command I shout and my first shot would be almost simultaneous. [All assuming I keep my cool like this guy.]
