Seriously? This guy got sprayed in the face and was trying to escape and was pursued by this POS. The DA should be disbarred for bringing this case to trial.
I'm 65 and handicapped. If someone sprayed me with oc, you're darn right I'm drawing my gun and shooting. ANY show of force on my person I would consider possibly lethal. So I wouldn't hesitate. I carry for self-defense, and once they assault me, I'd be in fear for my life.
Sorry, disagree with you. Someone OC spays you and then follows you around while you can't see and you are in fear of your life you have no other alternative but to pull your firearm. You don't know what the other guy will do while you are blinded and you can die from one punch.
I think people are missing the point of this video. Pepper spray is not the use of deadly force, but by drawing a gun has escalated the conflict to deadly force. Regardless of if it was justified or not, what he is saying is he should have disengaged from the attacker because it is an option here. Yes, this is not what most people think we should do, but is it worth the financial losses and possibly losing your freedom over. I believe Virginia does have a stand your ground law, but it just proves that you still can be prosecuted. Fortunately he was able to walk away with his freedom, but not his money.
A pity. Looks like US vs Russia via Ukra.When adults cannot solve issues like adults, in this case Europe. I don't think race played a part in prosecutor decision. Really. It didnt. Couldn't hav. If roles were reserved?
The fact that pepper spray / mace has killed someone whois to say this guy wasn't the next one? 100% justified and good job on him for standing his ground.
As CCW instructor said, “Whether or not if you’re on the right side of a shooting, expect to pay $50K in legal fees.” That was in 1998, so I’m certain legal fees have increased greatly.

If this was in a southern state it wouldn’t have even got to trial. Self defense.
