Every provincial court judge in canada has a false oath. Before proceeding in court look up the judges oath and crown attorney's oath. They removed the word , do, from it. Look up the oath of allegiance act, compare them.
Listen folks, if someone’s breaking into your house, do whatever you need to do to protect yourself and your family. Don’t worry about the law. Just do what you have to do. Maybe calling the police after you’ve handled the problem isn’t the best option.
I would never call the police if I found myself in a similar situation to the man in Ontario who was recently charged. The process is part of the punishment at minimum. I would take my chances, shovel, and shut up.
A Scottish tourist, an unarmed family man, stopped at a house in America, to get directions to the airport. He was shot dead and the killer was released on the grounds that he felt threatened. Any normal society accepts self defense but that act must be proportional. You can't shoot someone, in the back, while they're running away and then claim self defense.
