What is BJJ? If you mean Budojujutsu, I studied under Grandmaster Al Thomas
(who passed away Christmas eve 1999) for MANY years. It is a combination of
Kodakan Judo, Aikido, Yawara, Taido, Taijitsu, Okinawa Tai karate, and Kung
Fu. Also, (though I’ve not seen him for awhile) I know sensei Rick
Mirandette and am here to testify that he is both a good friend and an
EXCELLENT martial artist! God bless Rick (and all martial artists)

Im not missing the point, y practice Aikido, and im new in BJJ and judo.
Aikido is surely amazing, but dangerous? the point of aikido is to
neutralize your oponent withouth harm, unlike aikijutsu that is surely
lethal. In fact many moves in BJJ come from aikijutsu. And i know some MMA
fighters that train in aikido too. Other thing is that MMA is of no use for
police forces or military forces cause its inefective outside the cage
instead they learn Krav maga aikido sambo and thats a fact.
You’re missing the point. If Aikido is so amazing that it’s the preferred
choice in a street fight where, as you say, knives and guns are involved,
then surely it can utterly crush any opposition in an MMA match. Don’t give
me that bullshit about Aikido being too dangerous for MMA, either. There
are moves in Muay Thai, BJJ, Wrestling, etc. etc. that aren’t allowed in
MMA because they’re dangerous. If Aikido is good enough for life and death,
it should be good enough for MMA. THAT’S the point
why so much anger dude? have you been KO by an aikidoka? aikido comes from
aikijutsu, which comes from jujitsu. BJJ comes also from jujitsu but its
only sport ground technics.
Do you even understand the difference between a real fight and a sport
fight? Like in a life and death situation were you cant go to the ground
for lets say 2 minutes waiting to perform a clean armbar because you would
get shot, stab, etc. MMA is a sport, wiht judges, and cameras, and rules,
and only TWO fighters, in try to stay 3 minutes in the ground in a bar
fight, or a street fight, or between soldirers in a warzone. And try to
keep your brutallity level in like 0.
like i said i have love for a lot of the arts there are only a small few
that i find a lil smell of fun in so you know you can do some research
online then do it, look i did was point out that all the arts that are used
in mma are all sport based arts as in NOW not there roots
again i never said aikido was a sport tell me in what time frame i said it
i dont see it as for ” having seen sport aikido” if you are talking about
tomiki aikido thats a crap attempt and a fail at that because you cant make
aikido a sport . some say Lyoto Machida has used it in some of his fights

maybe the next class is from another MArts school like hapkido or taekwondo

in combat warfare and the arts in mma are all sport based dont get so mad
