The advantages of carrying a pocket fixed blade add up when considering a self defense tool, namely strength and reliability. The EDC side of the genre has grown exponentially in recent years, but so too has the tactical flavor.

I saw a knife video where an older low key quiet tactical guy from Florida says"Just carry a gator knife" The idea he explained was; if a gator grabs you you just run it up the belly and he won't want you anymore and you can make some nice shoes later. 'Cause your basically gutting it. I like those older boot knives. They've been around for a really long time. Can't recall who made them. I don't carry a knife. There's a short and a long version. You'll see them at gun shows alot.
I prefer atleast 3.3 – 4 inch On a fixed blade. 3.5 inch Esse 3 with flat G10 Handle less than half Clip is l9ng enough To fit My thicker wider gun belts Is very concealed due to Thinner profile handle can be A bit slippery solved that with Goon are hockey tape.
Sad to see the Regiment Blades Low Viz didn’t make the cut. It’s a beefed up and modernized TDI.
It has an unique design that’s an almost revolver-like push dagger, with a cutout for the first finger (instead of a karambit ring) – meant to punch out as well as slash. The idea is most people can throw a punch, and boxing or martial arts training would carry over.
Also meant to utilize the muscle memory of a pistol draw.
Don’t quite know the story behind the creator Al Salvitti and his dispute over the patent. And his approach to self defense might be a little controversial lol. But a solid design.
The Attleboro dau tranh neck knife is very light and shaped well for utility use, at a better price than many shown on the table. Fully Skeletonized and sports CPM 20cv Cerecote throughout. 3.2 ounces and $130 on their site. In that Tops papa delta, what’s the logic behind the open ring handle? Seems like an unrated pinch-point especially under higher applied force
Fun fact: The Sigurd 42 (referring to §42 in the German weapon law) is legal to carry in public by default. The federal bureau of crime (BKA / Bundeskriminalamt) came to the conclusion that it doesn't serve the weapon function, so to speak. Mainly that has to do with the blade shape, the blade to handle angle, and the missing support in the palm and so forth. They released an official analysis of their conclusion, which judges take greatly into consideration. I love a small fixed with a pinky ring for comfort myself.
Tops and DC knives collaboration – Ephyra is also a very good EDC fixed blade option for various uses. More of a belt carry than a pocket carry. I would say a pocket fixed blade knife, depending on the clothing you're wearing can be a bit challenging to deploy quickly. IWB or belt carry is faster, but then again, depends on what situation you get into.
Most Tkell agents and night series blade also fit the bill, but they're also designed for appendix and IWB carry.
I would suggest people to stay situationally aware and not get into a position where you need to deploy a knife in the first place.
Civivi jacked that whole knife and sheath design from Skallywag. The hook on the sheath was also made to grab belt loop when pulled out while carried across the waist
Geez, the El Pionero just hurts to see. Awesome!

I'm not paying hundreds for a blade that I only need for piercing, penetrating and puncturing. That Stroup MK2 Combat is tempting though! 🤩
10:09 The knife is pointing inwards with the blade facing inwards; you're holding it completely the wrong way round.
Civivi orthrus ⚔️🔥👍
Tops El pionero 🔥⚔️👍

Would these be good to take to a track meet?
The Gym Rat looks exactly like a carpet knife.

Honorable mention:
The Cold Steel Spike series.
