Tueller prinicple would not apply in the situation you applied it in John, cops already had guns drawn… Wouldnt this invalidate the useage of Tueller principle?
Surprisingly this dude actually had the common sense drop the knife after being shot, but unfortunately was too stupid to realize that 3 officers with guns vs. 1 guy with a knife is not a good fight to take…
I think the cop who shot him did a pretty fantastic job. If I was a cop, I'd want someone like her covering me. Having lethal cover on less-lethal only works if the officer covering is on point, and she was. She's someone I'd trust with my life.
I don't agree a bit with the techniques and procedures used to "stop the threat". The police are way too limited in tools for dealing with miserable mentally unstable people. In a way, you are dealing with a scared animal and police could learn improved tactics, from dog catchers. A plains clothes agent who looks non threatining and trained to lead with backup at a distance could offer the guy a "treat" ,a bottle of water, something salty, cigarettes, a couple pills or jet bottles of hard liquor, a few kind words. Ask him to sit and mellow out and talk or rant.
Of course, that may not work, or take too long and the way you guys like to do everything so quickly, you could just bear spray him and batton the knife away from him and cuff him, or when he cant see, wrap him up in a net, then knock the knife out of his hands. Admit him to a medical facility and have him treated and stabilized. That would be much easier on the county budget than shooting him, and racking up charges should not be the main goal in an endeavor that strives to "Serve and Protect". Law enforcement should not be about individual officers gaining 'game points' in a competition for awards and attaboys and for puffing up the service record or gaining rank.
The police need to screen out the ones who join the force because they are the type of people who live to hurt others. They are on the rise and everywhere. DSM cluster B personality disordered people are the ones who do most of the disgusting news grabbing actions, and they make all humanity seemingly ugly as hell. Having a gun and badge gives them a license to act out their darkness. The police need Empathy Based Behavioral Procedures, with the same level of security for the agents. There is no excuse for not considering better alternatives. Time for real change.
It honestly must suck to be in a situation like this, and still survive😂. Not only were you dumb enough to do some shit like this, but now you have to live with it and face all the charges.😂
Too bad he lived.
the pocket knife tho…..really
Big surprise, the taser failed

I really needed a "good" outcome after that other video
Maybe he had the wuhan virus
Kind of sketchy, but Diane Keaton was killed with a butter knife in
"Looking for Mr Goodbar"
AMEN I’m going to handle my biDness if I have a gun on me 🤣
What an embarrassment that guy is, being shot by a female. XD

These kinds of criminals are the once with friends who brag about not being scared of the police, braging they would beat up the cops.
Taser+hoodie=…aint gonna work…
American cops are so bad sometimes.

Those citizens running away at full speed are the smartest people in the room!
Expected the temprature challenge this guy charge the police
