I keep a can on the side of my chest rig.

@Steve-Griff says:

Note: "bear spray is highly potent—often measuring 1.0% to 2.0% Major Capsaicinoids (MC), compared to human sprays like POM, which typically max out around 1.33% MC. However, human sprays are formulated to instantly incapacitate attackers at close range, while bear sprays are designed to create a wide fog barrier from a distance."

Idiots and wasps are pests, i can relate to that, lol!😆🧯

@mattwaters9741 says:

Sabre makes a nice pepper gell that would be better if there is windy conditions. Great video. Thank you for the demonstration

@perhms1 says:

Choose gel.

@oo-dd3lk says:

It would be great if thi was legal in the UK. Problem is, the crims can use this stuff too ? Which is probably why it’s is still illegal here…😮 ….Good post though, 411.

I've sprayed a smaller female pitbull going after my golden retriever – no affect whatsoever. Is C4 tear gas legal to buy?

@baruchben-david4196 says:

Two suggestions. First, as someone else mentioned, use your thumb to press the lever. Your finger is weaker, and the way you have to hold the can makes it easier for someone to grab the can out of your grip.

The other suggestion is to use pepper gel, rather than pepper spray. The gel is less affected by the wind, making it less likely you'll get your own spray. It shoots farther. You do have to be a bit more accurate to get it into the guy's (or dog's) face.

@graywind4326 says:

I have the big one in my car and the smaller POM spray clipped to my back pocket. If I was in a higher risk area I would carry the big police magnum can I have in the car. Also carrying full size handgun and spare mag and blade, so don’t want a huge can hence the POM.

@georgias2157 says:

Kimber makes a handy little pistol style gel gun that I carry for "dogs and stuff" plus the big cannister for bears.

@thomcarr7021 says:

In order of heading out the door for me…wallet / phone / pepper spray gun / keys. It's been like that for a few years back. Not long ago a man with a serious mental illness came at me from across the street ,He was in a screaming rage The guy was huge and crazy. As he screamed he was gonna break my neck I pulled the gun and a straight line went right into his eyes. That was the best $50 I ever spent.

@eugenerubalcavajr4663 says:

Good advice. I carry Sabre Crossfire pepper stream. It is less affected by wind and I prefer it to gel. I also carry a knife and as a last resort, I carry a handgun. But the best deterrent I " carry " is my Cane Corso " Kane ". People always give him some space, and if they don't, I have my pepper stream and handgun ready.

@somematters5713 says:

It’s a good option but you have to check the law of the state of what side you should carry. In New York you can’t carry more than .75 ounce.
So be careful with the size in your state

@carla_sc_1984 says:

(Your beard looks great today). Those sprays make me nervous I would be so scared that I probably would spray myself instead of pointing to the guy Haha

@PattyandWillie says:

Happy Sunday Daniel and everyone! Thank you for the pepper 🌶️ spray demonstration! That was really a lot of spray coming out of the cannister, and it was just as powerful even at a distance. I always carry pepper 🌶️ spray when I go for a walk. So far I have never had to use it, and hopefully I never will, but it's always good to be prepared. Your demos and words of wisdom always keep me intrigued until the very end. Stay safe everyone ❤️🙏! 5:37

@g54b95 says:

If you have to use this type of deterrent and it doesn't stop the threat, it will show a jury that you didn't just pull a gun out and start blasting. You tried non-lethal first.

@egads2 says:

A good discussion but along with the tactics requires a mention of civil or as you said criminal liability coverage in some manner. More than likely you will be sued for at least medical bills, if not for pain and suffering regadless if they are the primary aggressor. Some firearms liability organization will also cover for CS use.

These sprays are very effective.

Good suggestion. Thanks.

Wasp spray is my go-to for daily trail walks. Shoots a solid stream 25 feet. You can aim exactly where you need to. Bulky to carry but fits in a back pocket. Have never had to use it on a human thank God but works great for coyotes.

@76_Red_Pills says:

Know your jurisdiction laws .
Some a felon can carry OC natural , as opposed to chemical. (Read local Law. “ Definitions” . Know Law; even of what you assume! (this brand excellent). PS – when confirming laws; always double check AI info as it can be wrong often.

@michaeldrew942 says:

I carry 4 options, pistol, knife, pepper spray, and some type of concussion type weapon.

@rtcurtis5858 says:

Hello. Hope your day is going great. Your pepper spray demonstrations are most informative. I chuckle at your humor as you spray. I appreciate the mature wisdom you impart. Thank you!

@justanamerican9024 says:

I carry pepper spray here in bear country. If you are in an area that does not allow pepper spray, if you take a one or two oz container with a spray top, put in equal amounts tea tree oil/comfrey oil/peppermint oil, or similar combinations of strong essential oils, and practice to get used to the limited range of the sprayer. Using that can be effective in close encounters for a short, but crucial, time to get away. I suggest practicing in front of a mirror, aim for the eyes. It wipes clean when done.

@tommiller7177 says:

About 20 yrs ago , tear gas was available in AZ. Real military CS tear gas. I still have a small canister, with a key ring on it. I do carry a large canister of bear attack spray in one of my trucks. Be careful, using bear spray on humans, not legally consistant with the label.
