They should have you come in and perform all the ballistic tests yourself and leave WITH your property. It’s inappropriate to confiscate it as “evidence” most likely to be used against YOU, not the criminals. In most cases for an indefinite amount of time. Not everyone has the luxury of owning multiple firearms.

It's California. The guy who slipped and fell will sue for personal injury and prevail on the theory that the store owner should have known that the floor surface was unsafe for a robber running into the store and trying to stop under gun fire. It's just common sense guys.
