Taking the stand instead of getting a self defense expert or ptsd expert witness is wild. Nic is going to rot in prison for defending himself against a drunken, violent mob now.

@davidthgnomeful says:

This is great and all, but did he find the phone?

@invertedreality4473 says:

Obvious self defense. As long as they're not a bunch of libtards, he should get acquitted. He had every right to defend himself against these GenZ entitled animals. The prosecutor is obviously a libtard or this never would have been brought to trial.

@jennywight9119 says:

I assumed the defendant was at least partially guilty, if not totally guilty and his use of force was excessive. However, I specifically sought out your analysis, Andrew, because I knew you would break the incident down within the specific points of the law. I am definitely seeing this case in a new light. Thank you ❤!

@user-lj7pl3ou6e says:

The judge lets the states mischaracterize his statements for 5 mins. But if the defense "leads" the witness he can't get a word out edge wise. this judge? hmmmm?…..

@user-lj7pl3ou6e says:

Why Don't they just play the Video? Over and Over!

@TheAllSeeingGuy says:

A lot of people mention Miu smirking/smiling in the video but, neglect consider that maybe he was trying to appear unafraid in order not to further incite his attacker's predatory mob mentality.

@RozeechildRN says:

Why did the defense not have an expert in self defense or PTSD, or psychology of fight or flight.

I thought Miu did okay.

I hate this petty prosecutor.

I've seen lots of comments saying Miu was ego driven, and full of rage. I feel like we watched a different trial. In fact, it was the "kids" full of alcohol, ego, and rage.

@PeerReview-tq3pn says:

The filter at 5:16 is crazy

@JH-pt6ih says:

Does anyone know of the income status of these teens families? I'm wondering if this these charges are due to the teens families being financially better off.

@anabelmorales4874 says:

HE WAS TOLD BY HIS GROUP DO NOT GO TO THE HIGH SCHOOL GROUP HE DID ANYWAYS!!! HE WILL BE FOUND GUILTY PERIOD!!!!

@michelemccowan5924 says:

I do not believe he intentionally wanted to harm anyone on the river. He was attacked and defended his person. Whether or not he lied about the knife or what happened after the incident does not matter. He tried to get back to his group when he was confronted and then assaulted. He did not start the fight. He reacted to a drunken mob of bullies. Not guilty.

@emmitt5443 says:

video saved Kyle Rittenhouse / video is going to sink Miu – just too many lies. Then to try and say the knife was the kids knife and there were 2 knives.
At least Kyle never once had a simile on his face when he was being chased and attacked
He didn't throw the gun away – he didn't lie repeatedly to the police – he didn't try and disguise himself. Miu lost his cool because some punks were calling him names – and the video is pretty clear from everyone yelling at once " you punch a woman – you punch a girl.
Kyle didn't have the luxury of walking away. If Mr. Giggles Law SD would step out of his bubble he'd have a more unbiased view of these events. Maybe he can't make 10 bucks a questions if he keeps an open mind that maybe just maybe Miu did the wrong thing.
btw: the Rittenhouse videos weren't even CLOSE to being as cut and dry as the ones in this case.

@chunkylord3639 says:

When I first saw the footage, I thought his use of the knife was disproportionate. Now I've heard more of the facts and arguments, It does seem more proportionate now and in his situtation I'm sure I would fear for my life. I'm not sure on the "innocence" factor atm though. Admittedly, I have not seen much of the trial so can't give an informed opinion here, but with my uninformed opinion from the phone footage, it does look like he just rapidly approached the kids sitting in tubes, therefore provoking a confrontation.

@LCMerit says:

The tripwire that is a self-defense case: once it's claimed, the jury expects the accused to take the stand. Miu did and did horribly in my opinion. The video played at real time speed could have told his side of the story better. I want to believe him, BUT his behavior after the fact, and his testimony here, made him sketchy AF. He's getting convicted.

@geebee3100 says:

every single objection by defense is LEGITIMATE.
WORDS MATTER.
this judge is a complete wimp.

@SmokeStackLightning47 says:

Nick's the only one who was there and didn't lie on the stand. Of course he lied about the knife. He new the mob would lie about what actually happened and he was right.

@justavillain says:

No matter the side you fall on with this case it’s nice to see a firm judge in control of the court and kept it moving. Yeah the white noise was a little annoying but hey it’s better than listening to them bicker

@jonathanmontgomery5178 says:

I think Branca is focused on the facts and not feelings. But juries focus on feelings.

@user-ut3ft4qn5f says:

If he knew there was a video that proved self defense he would of never lied he thought no one would believe him so he lied but he didn’t need to lie the video shows it was self defense he hurt himself by lying. Not sure if the jury will understand that
