Just because you are legally justified to kill doesn’t mean you should, especially when officers get the best training in the world on de-escalation and use of less than lethal weapons. Was this guy being reckless and dumb.. yes… did he deserve to get offed like that without a trial ..no. This video shows a callous disregard for human life by the shooter.. there’s no way to see it any other way than an officer with a fragile ego wants to exact retribution on someone who hurt his feelings.
This is one of those times that the officers MAY have had the extra time to deal with him by backing off. There were a lot of assets out there and we just don't know what other calls were pending. That is not to say that they should have used deadly force in that timeframe, but I would like to have seen what calls were being delayed. It could have caused the officer to speed up the resolution; not that it would have been a much better outcome, but he chose to end the threat immediately. I think that it was an unfortunate outcome, but I don't think that the officer is in trouble for ending the threat, quickly. In a David and Goliath situation, we know that rocks can kill. It wasn't clear from the video what was in the immediate area. Was there a school or daycare or store with kids with8n throwing distance? These are things that I would like to know before passing judgement on that officer.

I used to do this to cops in the 90s . No one ever got shot.
