Man claimed self-defense, being in different dimension when he killed stranger
A Fulton County judge has sentenced Javon Williams to life without the possibility of parole plus five years for the murder of Zakori Kenner, a young man who was simply picking up snacks for his mother on her birthday.
Prosecutors say surveillance video showed Williams following Kenner from a convenience store before fatally shooting him from more than 50 feet away. A Fulton County jury took just 50 minutes to convict Williams of murder, rejecting his claim of self-defense. During testimony, Williams made the unusual statement that he felt as though he was in a “different dimension” at the time of the shooting.
