This is why the 20 foot rule exists. Go back and count how many seconds it took the perp to close that gap before first shot was fires. This is why it's utter foolishness to think someone with a knife is less deadly than someone with a gun.
That was extremely dangerous on the officers part, that was an awful backstop. He not only had occupant filled cars, but there were individuals walking on the opposite side of the underpass. He should have either shot as soon as the individual flared out his arms and started to charge, or he should have given orders from the vehicle and potentially used the vehicle as a tool.
I don't know if these were actually happening in this case, but I'm somewhat convinced. #1 – That sergeant waited for a gap in traffic in the backstop before firing. #2 – He actually deliberately jumped back because he couldn't backpedal any faster and the guy was right on top of him.
It was justified but damn… that backstop. Officer should have stepped to the left more to put his cruiser up as his backstop and not the commuters rolling by
Does anyone know what the title of ASP's tutorial "getting out of the holster quickly and getting on target" is? I looked and I cant find anything like that on their playlists.
Aaand I'm sure that certain elements were outraged that the officer shot the guy, "He should have just jumped back in his car and locked the door, then called the mental health conflict resolvers".
Yes! he received the help he needed and so did the public, job will done SI, A real poop sandwich not much time to plain the next move, I hope the people that witnessed this event will be ok.

Or faster and more accurate with your knife.
If you got a knife to attack with, don’t let them see you coming
Main lesson I take from this one: Distance is Your friend!
watching too much superhero movies doesn't make you invincible

Super sketchy.
Poop sandwich is correct. Yes it was purposeful.

Job well done officer. I can sleep well at night with another nutter gone.
"but he died of his injuries"……..I only got one word to say to that, GOOD

2:22 bold strategy running into bullets.
This looks like suicide* by cop
The second camera angle was amazing.
Good, one less crazy person that's a threat to me.

Mind blowing how the badge cam makes it seem further away than ir really is, third angle shows the guys mere inches from slashing at the officer
Hindsight 20/20 could have started shooting sooner
