Dean McCollom says:

I bicycled across the USA from Pacific to Atlantic. In Eastern Kentucky I had lots of dog attacks. I found that standing my ground. Putting the bike between me and the dog and yelling "get off the couch" was very effective. I think that the phrase "get off the couch" predicts a beating in that region…

Poplip200 says:

If that dog charged me that when then glocky gets rockin

125AXer says:

Running from a dog only tires a human out before being caught. I was attacked by a dog, and was studying a martial art at the time (Hapkido). Kicks were completely ineffective; the agile dog managed to avoid them. As I took a couple of steps backwards, the dog leapt at me, I think to bite my face or neck. A very fast right roundhouse punch caught it on the side of the eye socket with enough force to push it away and turned180 degrees before it landed. It staggered, looked back at me, and ran off.
Lessons: 1. You might think that you can kick a dog attacking you, but it is not easy, and may leave you off-balance. 2. A dog with feet on the ground will be quicker than you. 3. A dog which has leapt in the air is most vulnerable. 4. Dogs, like humans, can get tunnel vision, and not see defenses.

Steven Liberadzki says:

One on one with a dog I will never run. Key is the dog no doubt will get one bite in. Raising pit bulls for 20 years I know how a real aggressive dog plays. Tell you one thing if you shove a thumb in any dogs eye that will 100% of thentime take the game right out of the dog.

SELF MADE says:

That animal needs to be killed slowly!!!

imCracked says:

A black person raised that dog 100%

Captain Red Pill says:

I said it before and I feel that I need to say it all again. Thwarting dog(s) attacks is much simpler than most people think.
All one needs is a knife that is at least three inches long. For the fastest draw a fixed blade with a kydex sheath is best.
Suppose one carries his/her knife on the waistline attached to the belt. At the fast approach of a dog one MUST not panic but stand firm. The left foot should be planted forward and the left arm extended and level with one's neck. This will appear to be an easy bite for the approaching dog. The knife should already be drawn, hidden behind the right leg, and pointed downward.
At the last second as the dog jumps up to bite the left arm the knife should be thrusted into its neck with the sharpened edge facing outward. Once the blade is inserted it then should immediately be slashed outward. This requires split-second timing. This would put the hostile dog down for the count right away.
Such a technique may seem cruel but it is, in my opinion, more effective and safe than some other methods I can think of.

Daniel Wright says:

The amount of times I’m walking my dog and dogs come out running their yards and try to attack my dog, it’s happened to me so many times I trained her to stay behind me so I can protect it. My staffy is very submissive so it won’t defend herself when getting attacked. No bad dogs just bad owners.
