Legally Armed Firearms Trainer Shoots Man Who Corners Him

Would you have taken the route that this legally armed firearms trainer took? Would your other skills have come to the front, or would you shoot him as well? These kinds of encounters are why we post after action reports on Active Self Protection! Original video, news story, 911 call audio, and more of the firearms trainer getting backed into a corner available here: https://get-asp.com/0enu What does this video teach us about defending ourselves against an attack? 1. A life of self-protection must be dedicated to avoidance, de-escalation, and escape whenever possible. You win 100% of the fights that you don’t get in, so make a commitment to de-escalate, escape, or evade any encounter you possibly can. Having good situational awareness will give you more time and opportunity to see problems coming and formulate a plan to stay away and protect yourself without danger to yourself or others. This is always our first choice as self-defenders. This legally-armed firearms trainer tried pretty hard to de-escalate and escape, and that was a wise decision that probably swayed the DA quite a bit. Want to learn more? Fire instructor should of stayed inside. Tells me he wanted engagement…

Aryn Stevens says:

I think this also helps support that open carry does not really do much to deter people from attacking you. I don't recommend open carry. They don't need to see your firearm until they need to see its' muzzle flash.

Dave Alexander says:

Didnt HAVE to shoot the bully. Could have just as easily crotch dropped him or throat punched him /chopped his caroted artery or eye gouged him to stop his dumbass. Using lethal force was too much. Wont always have a gun. ALWAYS have your hands/feet.

TX Rocker USA 1st says:

He was getting his license plate I think..

X Y says:

My gun protects me, not the aggressor. If a gun's coming into the equation at all, he's fixing to get mag dumped. A guy that size could grapple you easily at that distance even if you pull the trigger.

The Phantom says:

Maybe the guy wanted an autograph from pawn stars….

Vaughan Starr says:

Get pushed, kill a guy. And you wonder why people want guns banned?

S PACE says:

He was walking out to get the guys plate. And that pissed the crazy gun off

Agent Knight says:

1.) I wouldn't have followed him out of the store. If he's out, the threat is over. Lock the door and wait for the police.
2.) If he kept getting in my space like that, he would have gotten the butt of the gun to his nose before anything.

Mitch Butterfinger says:

Obviously he was trying to get the guys Tag # not going to his car …

David Smith says:

@Active Self Protection. What's your stance on open-carrying in public. I know it's legal, but i only open-carry when i'm hiking or in the woods for protection against predators. However, legal and smart are two different things.

w3w3w3 says:

That firearm instructor did not stay out of it lol… he followed the guy as he was leaving, what an utter idiot. Have a go hero.
