Thanks you for info from spain.

Such a large kutotan? It’s didlo, not kubotan.

captquest1 says:

I’ve watched a dozen videos now on the Kubuton and still haven’t seen my
favorite defensive technic that I learned 30 years ago (I’ve actually had
mine that long). I believe it was in a book by Masaad Ayoob. The stabbing,
and using pressure points, and even some of the holds are all fine. Great
when some one is trying to wrestle or bear hug you. But, you can also throw
punches and use the keys to your advantage. Not, however like everyone is
showing in these videos by swinging the keys and striking. A better method
is to grasp the keys in your hand with the Kubuton extended upward from
your fist and strike with your fist much like a normal punch. (You have too
many keys on yours for this.) Try it on a surface and see what I mean.

Robert Mora says:

K.I.S.S. is always the rule!! Like it!

diazaman says:

A friend introduced me to the Fury brand Kubaton…I was impressed with
it’s simplicity…
didn’t like was the keys though, the blunt end seems just as effective, if
not more? He says you gotta have keys on so it’s not a weapon…
I laughed, to me, Kubatons, knives, and yes even guns are only tools! Tools
Man made to make things easier. Like toasters and radios, both of which can
be used to kill, as are 75% of the items in our homes.
I think once any tool is used in violence, THEN it’s a Weapon…

Thanks ARF1049 for your input. I appreciate it. Take good care. Fred

EyesofPhysics SRG says:

Alright, you too.

Debra Long says:

It does not have to be sharp to do the job. As for large and club like that
would make it a club. The size is what makes it so effective some thing
does not have to be big to have a large bite. I fine mine just to be a very
good back up. Do not look at it as being better then being trained look at
it as some thing that will add to your training I have made six foot 200
pound very angry men calm down very fast or just run away some times with
just one hit. Have a nice day and safe training

eyesofphysics97 – Thanks for your views. My view is it is a very short
range weapon that in tight self-defense situations may help you; like if
someone was bear hugging you, you could stab his hands or other body parts.
Of course, one has to practice one’s drawing skills. Your point is
important though to keep in mind. Thank you for sharing. Best to you in
your training. Fred

Isaiah Harris says:

you make good points however i must disagree with you holds and throws have
there time and place.situation will always dictate what action you use.
just remember every techniques works but not every technique works 100% of
the time.

leveragepinning says:

Jaywuzup – Interesting question. I guess the scientific way would be to get
a hold of each and test them. My personal view is as long as it is light,
sturdy and feels good in your grip; whether wood, titanium, etc. Again,
good question. Thanks Jaywuzup. Please let me know if you find any info to
share. I will too. Take good care. Fred

leveragepinning says:

I’m sorry you got mugged. I hope you are OK. I agree with you about
carrying your kubotan. You take care of yourself and thank you for your
post. Fred

ARF1049 says:

these are useful for jamming and “seperating” ribs along with general
smashing of muscle and skin

Aulderath says:

Excellent advice, thank you for sharing that. Some people forget that the
purpose of self defense is defense, not putting on a good show. As you
said, keep it simple.

bobluhrs says:

That looks handy, also to break car window if you are stuck inside or
someone else is? I have kept my folding cellphone partly as a weapon. In
the fist I can punch and the force transfers from fingers to palm just like
hitting with heel of hand, much greater force and no fingers crushed, or
just slap to groin, and then use butt of the phone to base of skull for
knockout. Of course, have yet to verify this, 🙂 bob

draceanaqueen says:

I like this. I don’t have time to practise martial arts. I just want to
know what all I can do with a stick if somebody jumps me in a parking lot.

leveragepinning says:

shinobiedc – Thank you for your info and kind words. I am sorry I took so
long replying. I don’t recall being notified by my email from YouTube on
your posting. Maybe I missed it somehow. Anyway, thanks and take good care.
Fred

EyesofPhysics SRG says:

I guess that makes sense. Thanks. Great video btw, definitely requires more
views!

leveragepinning says:

Hi Robert Buzza. I’ll put it on my list. Thank you for suggesting it. In
the meantime perhaps you might wish to (if you haven’t already) do searches
on YouTube and Google using keywords like: kubotan, vulnerable striking
points, etc. Again Robert, thank you for making your suggestion and taking
the time to post. Take good care. Fred

shinobiedc says:

It’s personal preference.. I was trained in how to use the kubaton back in
the early 80’s. Plastic, aluminum, titanium, brass or even wood.. your own
personal preference. My opinion, the durability and weight of the ones made
of metal is my personal choice. If you don’t mind wood, you can make one
out of any wooden dowel. 1/2 inch wide and 5.5 inches long. Another note,
“tactical pens” that are popular now, are based on the Kubaton. Also great
video. Thank You, Happy New Year !

Adrianus3008 says:

Ok, thanks again Fred 🙂

Jaywuzup says:

Would you prefer a titanium kubotan or aluminium?…and which one is
better?….

UndisclosedSupremacy says:

hey Adrianus, I just ordered a couple of these things (one is a bit more
pointy, the other is blunt ended). they are fantastic quality and extremely
tough, if you search elite kubotans on google or something, go to there
site and you can get them there. there are cheaper options but they are
strong as fuck my friend and very very light xD. good luck man and stay
safe. thanks uploaded for the video as well, I think i was trying to over
complicate my techniques so this kinda put me in my place 😛

T.J. Wiebe says:

Simple works.

leveragepinning says:

Thanks for helping out. Much appreciated! Take good care. Fred

leveragepinning says:

Thank you for taking the time to comment Adrianus3008. I’m not sure where I
got mine. But go to Google (click on images) and type in the search box –
kubaton – and all kinds of images will pop up. If you see one you like you
can click on it and it takes you to its website. It was a number of years
ago when I got mine. Try the above; it may solve it for you. Let me know if
you need more help.Take good care. Fred

Adrianus3008 says:

Thanks for helping 😉

Debra Long says:

the Kubotan is for both minimal training and the well trained . I am like
you have a few years of training and I still carry one. I could go on but
will not because just by your comment you have proven you do not understand
Kubotans, nor have you ever picked one up with a open mind and a trained
fighters biggest enemy is a closed mine

leveragepinning says:

Thank you for taking the time to share your views draceanaqueen. Take good
care. Fred

Adrianus3008 says:

Hello .. Thanks for your answer. Yes, I tried many times click on images..
and nothing.. There’s no kubotan like yours.. I’ve been searching for last
6 days , still nothing 🙁 obviously your kubotan is unique 🙂 Thanks for
helping.. I continue to search.. .. Thank.sAdrian

EyesofPhysics SRG says:

I have done over three years of martial arts/ UFC traning with swords,
staffs, etc. and personally, If I were to fight someone, It would make
hardly any difference to me whether they are wielding a kubotan. The way I
see it, it is just like a 6 inch stick in your hand. Unless the attack was
a surprise attack, I probably would not see a difference between fighting a
thug with one of these or without. Perhaps this weapon is made for those
with minimal hand to hand fighting training?

ELMO LINCOLN says:

Simple and short works for me,that’s why I watch Steve’s videos too.If I
wanted long intricate, detailed lectures I get an instructor any pay for it.

leveragepinning says:

Another option is to do a Google search with things like – “kubotan sharp”
or “kubotan sharp point”, etc. Looks like what UndisclosedSupremacy wrote
is a good lead as well. Hope that helps. Take good care. Fred

Larrypint says:

just a joke…thanks for the video, you are right

TheTaoistmonk says:

Hey it would be nice if maybe you could show kubaton self defense showing
best targets to strike things like that and if you can show close up so
there is no confusion thanks.
