Great video. Glad you made it.

David Teixeira says:

When we kicked a king out of country and wrote our own Constitution. How in
hell do we evolve to this? Bleeding heart libtards (1) Criminals loose all
rights when they attempt to take someone else’s life (2) the legal system
is screwed up because of ex. (No.1) Have you seen the knock out game? Home
invasion were unarmed ppl are raped or murdered? Like in cities that have
very strict gun laws or 0 gun ownership rights. I have liberal parents and
family members 1 being a veteran. The mindset of elitist and progressive’s.
“I know better than you or your just paranoid”

geheimschriver says:

If I would plan to kill you, do you realy think I would give you the
opportunity to draw your gun…How can you shoot someone in self defense ?
Most likely it just some poor sod that is after your money or stuff. Just
hand it over and prevent all this shit from happening.

Tobbis Bond says:

If I’d give a warning shot in his leg and hope his bone splits up could I
get in serious problems too?

John Doe says:

I am a police officer in Texas and law abiding citizens who defend
themselves using deadly force are always justified. We support concealed
carry folks and when I contact someone who has a concealed carry permit and
they tell me they are not carrying I always ask them “why not.” In a
situation where an individual has to use deadly force to defend themselves
they are usually questioned by detectives and released. They do not get
booked into jail. That’s Texas though. Some states are not so good to
people that have to defend themselves….

Mark Thompson says:

Ridiculous. If some thug pulls a knife on me, I immediately pull my side
arm. Doesn’t mean I have to pull the trigger but the dude knows
immediately not to f*** with me. If he continues to try to assault me I
will drop his ass. No court is going to convict me for that especially if
its on tape. A guy with a knife at close range is extremely dangerous and
it absolutely justifies using deadly force. Every law enforcement officer
knows this too.

Sil3nt says:

The guy who held the person hostage in a walmart that shot the cops in
vegas should have watched this video.

DesertFernweh says:

Had a long talk with my Crim Justice Professor (Who was a retired
directive)In Nevada you basically have to have your back to the wall and be
against an equal force ie. if he has I knife and you have a gun your
screwed. Even he said it was BS.
Why I love AZ, Castle law.

BTW if some one comes at you while you are pumping gas….why not just
blind them with the gasoline and drive away.

Here is another point If you are in this situation (I have been in similar)
unless you’re on fumes put a gallon or two in the tank and move to a safer
location. It all about Situational Awareness.

FromThe3PointLine says:

If you live in texas, listen to all of what he is saying, but only do half.
If a man gets in my car, i can shoot him in the state of texas. He is in my
property.

Brent O'Connell says:

I’m thinking about getting my concealed carry, so don’t judge me, because i
have little experience with all this. But If I were confronted with a knife
like that i wouldn’t run. I would just draw my gun and tell him to walk the
fuck away. Just because you draw your gun doesn’t mean you have to shoot
it. o.o

GKAtascosa says:

Covered by TX LAW SHIELD, coverage for after the bang.

mspinky007 says:

what if the scenario was like the gay couple who almost got beaten to death
it was like 8 against 2. if they had a gun could they have protected them
self?

geoh7777 says:

14:00 The first thing you’re going to want to do is call 911 for the medics
(reporting a gunshot victim unless you aren’t sure he guy is dead; then you
try to render help) and then leave the scene (so you don’t get attacked and
possibly killed by the police when they arrive) and come walking back onto
the scene after the police have arrived and calmed down. Then, you offer to
one of the police on the outer periphery of the scene to “give information”
that will help their investigation.

If they ask why you left, it was to “go get your medicine,” or whatever.

I left the scene and came back like this on a non-violence police call
(house break-in alarm I accidentally tripped).and the police were
“grateful” for that so they could conclude their investigation without
having to wonder who did it and how and why. Best of all, I didn’t have to
go through the “down on the ground face-down and handcuffs, etc.” routine
they do.
.

Henry Avery says:

I have a gun on me almost all the time. And I agree it’s a last resort
thing to use it. But in my case if I feel it’s them or me. Their family is
gonna be mourning a death in the family before mine is. In front of
witnesses cameras of their family members who will all lie at trial who
started it. I’m gonna waist the bastard if I’m in fear of my life.

David Teixeira says:

Seriously. . What if you are cornered or can’t run? Or the conditions of
weather or your health prevents you to run? And how many ppl are going to
pull off a head shot? If you are properly trained you are aiming center
mass!!

JohnnyRZA says:

I dont have faith in the justice system, you gotta get away after.

Josh Weiner says:

Now you’re out of surveillance now its just your word against the dead
guys’? Are you kidding me. More like your word vs. the dead guys vs. the
ballistics vs. the forensics investigators.

Adam Bodford says:

This is why stand your ground laws are so important.

zach meechan says:

if i had a gun and someone pulled a knife than i’d put my hand on my gun
and give them a funny look

generalcoon47 says:

Here’s a question. If you have a gun and someone wants to rob you, (same
scenario), couldn’t you just point the gun at him and force him to go away
without actually firing it? I believe guns should also be deterrent.

egreSS says:

While I’d disagree about running away from a threat in that situation I
think it’s simpler advice to just tell people actively avoid confrontation
– because, as mentioned – the worst part is having to deal with the almost
unbearable amount of stress associated with publicity and financial burden
of going to court if you exercise your 5th amendment. I can’t give more
details except to say I speak from experience.

Mathew Greyell says:

The guy has a knife.. You don’t have to shoot him in the head…. Pelvis…
Can’t run any more

Whothebleepisthis says:

well, why run away, and risk the guy catching up to you, when you can
present your firearm and most likely scare the bastard away before anything
happens. you are absolutely right when you say your gun is your last
resort, but 98% of the time, merely showing the guy you’re armed will scare
his ass away.

nelson kiiru says:

That’s why i love my country Kenya in this situation as long as it was a
robbery with violence wherever you are and your properly licensed i would
get away with it-A STAND YOUR GROUND LAW so to speak exists in a way as
long as it is proved beyond a reasonable shadow of a doubt that you were
being robbed or the aggressor was using force on you and it won’t go so
far as this guy in the video is narrating.

Tmut44 says:

Would you honestly run from the bad guy. If you had passengers in your
vehicle. I would be concern about there safety.

Dr. Zoidberg says:

I think google glass should be a necessity to wear in public

ukfan4sure1 says:

The decision to use your weapon is an automatic $50K fine. How? You will
spend that amount to defend yourself in court from criminal prosecution.
If you are lucky, the DA will decide not to go after you. That is, if it is
that “cut and dry”. If you live in a liberal state, you can bet on it
happening. That alone will cause you enough grief. If you are acquitted,
next you have to fight off the thug’s family in a wrongful death lawsuit.
Most thugs have thugs for family members. They’re looking for another
Welfare check, and your pockets are going to be where their “TV commercial”
attorney will be looking. I’ve seen 100 news stories where the dead
person’s family says “he was SUCH a good boy! He was turning his life
around”…. I just want to puke. But, then there is always the thought
that you had to take someone’s life. You live with that all of your days.
Bad guy or not, he may have had a little child who will never get to see
him again. Suppose in a few years he finally “got it” and did indeed turn
his life around. We’ll never know now; you had to shoot him. Yes
everyone, THINK long and hard NOW about what shooting someone means. Oh,
yes, NOW is the time to have an attorney who is well versed in these
incidents, not when you need one from your jail cell.

CastleDoctrine87 says:

I swear, at around 10:13 I heard a fly. I had to look around for a second
to make sure I didn’t have one flying around me….I just heard it again!!!

Ritchie Wolf says:

Great video…..My uncle a cop, gave me great advise about dealing with the
law…..He said “just remember Being right is not a bullet proof vest ”

If you have to Box…You have to Box clever….

Jeremy Gladd says:

Everyone should realize that this guy misses a key component of deterrence
and self defense… “…about 15 national survey organizations in total
that range from anything from 760,000 times a year to 3.6 million times a
year people use guns defensively. About 98 percent of those simply involve
people brandishing a gun and not using them.” Show an aggressor what you’re
working with, most likely they’ll back off.

Andreas Kazen says:

is it wierd if you just dump the body? what would you guys do?

brianminkc says:

you have a good point. Guns are under attack by our President. You would
be targeted for prosecution. Use the gun only if needed. But… if you
think like your thinking in this video you probably would not use your gun
… just leave it at home.

ZADOK MELKIZADOK says:

Thank you for this subject. Z

Al D. says:

I read what people say in the comments, seems like a lot of talk without
much thought behind it. I was shot back in 1980 by someone that kicked in
the front door and I awoke to find him standing at the foot of the bed. I
jumped up to punch him and he shot me twice with a .38 snubby. I never knew
he had a gun, it was pitch black dark in the house. He completely took me
by surprise. I never knew he had a gun. I lost a kidney and part of my
liver was removed due to the gunshot damage. he did 2 years in Attica and
was released on good behavior. Thats just my story.

Billistac | BLST Nation says:

this video is very informational and valuable. Would it be good to talk to
a local law enforcement or an attorney about this topic to get more of my
questions answered?

Ryan E. says:

don’t know why there’s so many dislikes. can someone explain why?

Barry Wind says:

In Miami Florida I saw a cop shoot a man who was holding a machete. The man
was 25 feet away at the door of his house. The cop was around the corner of
the house and told him to drop the machete… he just kept waving it
around… the cop killed him… period the end! I would not have done that
in that situation. A little time could have deescalated the situation. I
would not have felt threatened standing 25 feet away behind the concrete
wall.

screwloose455 says:

You’re missing a MAJOR point, you’re thinking like a typical american
cop…You don’t have to shoot to kill. If I guy’s running after you and it
comes down to it, just shoot him in the leg.

mrmichael20 says:

Good, interesting video, Thanks for posting.

felix beatnic says:

What it you just show your gun when he approaches you w/ a knife?

Andrew Ragsdale says:

Remember also equal level of force. If someone threatens you with a knife,
ball bat, firearm; you’re allowed to meet the same level of force to
prevent yourself from harm. Bad guy pulls out a knife and threatens Good
guy, Good guy can pull firearm as a deterrent. If bad guy goes away,
holster your weapon and go on about your day. Bad guy starts to attack you,
you may use lethal force as of that moment to protect yourself.

Matthew DeMello says:

Thumbs up.. Good things to think about.

thayne559 says:

I think everyone who carries a gun should also carry a less than lethal
defense item like pepper spray or tazer. I also think running from someone
armed with a deadly weapon is a bad idea. That’s a good way to get stabbed
in the back!

Gus Carrillo says:

Now what? U get to live pendejo u run u the prey.
