Jiu-Jitsu Self-Defense | Gun Disarms If You Have No Other Options

This is an extremely dangerous situation that should be obviously avoided at all costs. Should you ever find yourself at gunpoint, do everything reasonably possible to accommodate the aggressor. However, if the situation calls for it, it is best to be prepared through training of solid techniques like these for gaining control of the weapon. These are some of the most fundamentally solid methods for disarms I have ever trained that I am sharing here. Train smart and safely, and do everything you can to avoid ever being in situations like the ones I reference in this video.

Thanks for doing this. Hickson Gracie has made a video on incorporating self defense in GJJ as an actual belt promoted training.

James Holt says:

Great video Eli. I do have one question, is there a reason that you went on the inside when the gun was to your back? As opposed to going outside the arm where he cant strike etc? Thanks again!

Brandon Nicol says:

Concise as usual. Really like your stuff.

SpartanMonkee says:

Most gun disarm vids I've seen are BS and dangerous – this one is good. One thing to keep in mind: the vast majority of shooters are right handed and even experienced shooters tend to jerk the trigger, causing shots to go (from the shooter's perspective) low and left. So avoid that zone if possible. That's why many of us train to draw with a quick shift to our left.

Michael T Dunn says:

Professor Eli, thank you for your statement in the beginning of the video. That is very important especially when a person have no training. Great video as always. πŸ‘

Dhiego Goiano says:

Now you understand why BJJ was made in Brazil… Hahahahaha. We laugh, but the reality is that we live in a goddam civil war.

Greg Daniels says:

Vuvoi Ocsado says:

AppendixCarryOG says:

Another thing to note is if the gun is out of battery by even the slightest amount it won’t fire, so when you go to grip on the slide of the pistol you can keep it out of battery if you push/squeeze it rearward.

taki shi says:

Thank you a lot from algeria we love your videos

Carlo Rusconi says:

The defense facing the gun is a lot different from what your friend and partner Ryan Hoover teaches. It would be nice to hear his opinion on your defense (and your opinion on his…). You are both awesome teachers. Thanks

Adrian B says:

Just give him the money.
