Israeli soldiers never raped Palestinians, never beheaded children, never went inside civilians homes and butchered them.
This is the new 'Doublethink' that we've seen take hold in the last 3 years – the ability to hold 2 contradictory beliefs simultaneously: 'There is NO possible justification for killing innocent citizens'. 'Israel now has complete justification for killing innocent Palestinian citizens'.
The 'proportionality' argument is a rhetorical trap that is fundamentally flawed. It basically determines 'If they r*pe our women, they we can r*pe their women'. That is the logic of terrorists.

I'm from Poland, and I stand with Palestine with all my heart, not just now, but for a long time! My family has a tree in The Garden of the Righteous Among the Nations, for saving Jews during Holocaust. I was raised with simple but very important values: every human life, no matter what race, nation, religion, gender, or economic class – is important, and everyone who is a victim and the oppressed, must be helped and protected. In the past, that was the Jews, nowadays it is the Palestinians. I feel that many Poles and the Irish support Palestinians in such a strong way because both these nations were oppressed and had to fight hard for independence themselves, so they understand Palestinians on another level.
My nation was under occupation and was divided between Russia, Austria, and Germany between 1772 – 1918, so for more than a century we lived like slaves, we couldn't officially speak our language, and our culture was being destroyed. We fought hard day after day, we started various uprisings and we failed each time, but we NEVER stopped believing that Poland someday would be free and independent again. Because if you are not free it's all you think about, and you will never stop fighting to be free. Palestinians won't stop either, no matter how many Israel will kill and torture, that is how the human spirit works – when you have nothing to lose, you fight even harder!!
It breaks my heart how the majority of today's Jews – often the grandchildren and children of those who survived the Holocaust – do to the Palestinians what German and other Nazis did to them once. I do not think you did a good job illustrating the issues. You did not use primary sources. Use photos of people injured, but there is no primary source to how that occurred.

Sorry to ruin it to you but Gaza is not under occupation, Israel withdrew from there some 15 years ago. The current blockade of the territory is the result of Palestinians electing Hamas who made it very clear that it is going to bring in weapons, which it smuggled anyway. Israelis have voted for a 2 state solution many times. The Palestinians didn't. It will be wrong to blame only Israel for the absence of peace. It will be malice to suggest the recent attack is to be excused and not retaliated.
