Is this GOOD self defense?

Comments

@NSFishingLife says:

Actually what you did there was not self defense. You hit him first

@Changingcolors531 says:

Is grabbing your opponent limb which part of the attack, pulling them to you, counter attacking, then running away a helpful self defense?

As a red belt in Krav Maga this is fake and would not work. Also all of your other Krav maga videos are bullshido. Please find real Krav maga because it does actually work.

Wait! Could you not just run in the first place?

@carlosgamer3800 says:

It could actually work if they opponent is dulb enough to get near to you

@birbsdigital says:

my friend (did karate when they were like 9) telling me that their mcdojo taught them the great technique of:
If someone grabs both of your wrists, here's how to get out. But then… grab their wrists for some reason?
It kind of worked? But 1, who is doing that in a fight. 2, how is this better? If you get out you should run away or at least attack. They could very easily kick you and you wouldn't really be able to dodge or block.

At my dojo you get 1 free class to see if you like it, so I brought them with me a few weeks ago.
What I noticed:
-They would always land back when they kicked, meaning they would destroy all the power and momentum. (I don't know if the dojo taught them to do that, or just never corrected them for some reason)
-When we sparred they were not making contact. Their dojo never gave them practice with the correct distances, so they would just end up either too far away or holding back.

hit an run is one of the best self defense man

@evgeniyushkov7103 says:

To me it is actually obvious that if you happen to need to fight,you need strength,speed and simple,but precise movements.What is simpler than one-two from boxing?Or leg kick from kickboxing and muaythai?Or karate's front kick?All of those are simple techniques that don't require good stretching and etc.Cuz you will never land strong high kick if you aren't good stretched,for example.For competition in mma,of course,you also need endurance,cuz fighters have good defensive skills and it will take a while to break through their defense,if you don't land lucky shot or completely outclass your opponent.
